Playstation for music???
Whats that got to do with a playstation??
Anyway...
It looks quite cool, not sure if its very practical to use....And I'm not a very big fan with these all-in-one solutions, it means that if you have a problem in one think, all the other things will be compromised....
But yeah, It looks nice definetelly |

...playstation aka use uf many synths (vsti/fx)...am i right ? ...hehe...
"not sure if its very practical to use...."
that s interests me too:
-all knob-definitions properly saved
-latency of the knobs n keys
-display
-how stable it is (...m$ xp)
"I'm not a very big fan with these all-in-one solutions, it means that if you have a problem in one think, all the other things will be compromised"
...exactly my minds...so true ( okay...if its well constructed it may be easy to replace smt, but what is today well constructed... ...aehrm...maybe it is...read it will grab u over 12'000 $ out of the pocket...i guess i will never touch one...hehe...)
however...i m curious how it will etablish ( n proove ? )

there seems to be very little info about the true inside workings of this thing.,
they say it has 128 polyphony but can handle hundreds of oscilators and filters??.,. what's that supposed to mean?
and they say it can record unlimited ammount of tracks.., <-??? with 8 inputs???. does it have an audio sequencer built in?.., if so, where are the screenshots?. is the harddrive able to record unlimited ammouts of tracks????., how fast is the harddrive interface?. etc.etc.etc.., very vague thing.,., and i see ppl on forums getting all yummy about this hype.,., they dont even have the patents ready.,,
other problems i see:
-if you are going to run a sequencer then you're gonna need a mouse. With such a big thing and with the built in screen there is no ergonomical place for the mouse.
-the screen itself is not ergonomical.,., very big minus on that.,
-1024 x 768 screen resolution limit.
-keyboard is next to the screen, so it's not very ergonomical to use key functions of sequencer
-keyboard is of the shitty laptop variety.,
-it takes up a lot of room.
-it's WAY more expensive ($6500) than buying this kit separately (ie. dual amd64, soundcard, controll surface, monitor, winXP/linux)
for this money you could have a mac dual g5 (seriously more powerfull +160G hd +good gfx card ) with logic 6 (including all the goodie plugz), a Big Fu&$@ng monitor, good quality soundcard and a controll surface and you would propably still have money to buy the plugins (that you need anyway)
If you buy a pc then you would have even more money left to buy plugins etc.
-no specs about the quality of the soundcard built in (S/N,jitter,bitdepth,samplerate,etc,etc,etc,etc...)
-no specs on ANYTHING actually. !!!
-some ppl claim its revolutionary. it's not. ., it's evolutionary., it's the new trend of packing everything together in one box and running XP on it.,., not a good thing IMHO
-supposed to be a synth, but if you use it as a synth only (with a second computer for sequensing) then you will have 2 times the chance that something will crash.
-you will be dependant on their drivers/driver hacks.
since this is a new type of product and they have no direct competition you should expect a lot of bugs which will be fixed sloowly.,
hmm.,., that's enough crap before even seing one or using one.,.,
It looks cool but there is absolutely nothing special about it except that it's all in one box.,which makes it much less flexible in every way possible.
i think i will stay away from it for a couple of years or so and see how it develops..,
aka., |

"about the mouse/seq -thingy, i guess it s a touchscreen...so... "
eeh., you have to pay xtra for the touchscreen.,., and realistically, can you imagine controlling a full blown sequencer on a 15" screen with your finger?.., all those small buttons n stuff?., i think it would be frustrating.,., and your arm would become lame after a few hours.,
"...i like only one kind of bluescreen...the one of this forum that s pritty bad indeed...even synth-manufacs support m$.."
but remember this is not a synth.,., from the box this thing will only play the standard windows Ding-Dongs.,., YOU have to provide the synths.,., so that makes this device a .,., eeh.,., PC?.,.,
