This is a new track i've uplaoded just now and feel free to listen. I've been wanting to do a track that incorporated Kuato from Total Recall, LOL critiques are welcome, ENJOY!

Thanks!

i been working on this in ableton Live. I have some concerns with the bassline. It starts at E and then goes to G for most of the track. zebralette for the bass sound. custom drum rack w/ sampled kicks. sampled kuato's voice.

I think this is one of my better attempts at mastering, did the compression, equalizing and starting to understand how it all works. Is there anymore i could do? I've been trying to give the bass more punch but every attempt to do so it would distort and peak. no luck with that, I think the bass seems to be drowned out a bit. I want it to have more presence through out the track, but it seems the high notes in the bassline take place and the low note seems pushed back.

i like the music, but it seems the is alot unwanted distortion going on, make sure you have no clips on your meters.

keep it up!

this so weird, to see this here now..
I watched Total Recall yesterday (again afer a long time) and thought to myself that Kuato part would be cool in a psytrance song... now here it is.

orgy is right
i don;t know. on the headphones things sound a bit squashed. it could be your mastering.

certain parts is really good.

haha, thanks...I was expecting someone to mention something about kuato, even I thought it would be awesome to put him in a psytrance tune. So i went ahead and did it. Actually this is another version of a track that i been experimenting with the sample of kuato's voice. three different iterations of using the sample. I'm trying to get the best use possible with it.

anyways, as for mastering, i'm not entirely sure. all i'm using at the moment is compression and EQ on some things, mainly the bass and impulse set. The compression is standard native of ableton, as well as the EQ. I Use dub delay effect in some areas, mostly the acid lead and the cheese lead. I been using the VST called "TripleCheese" in this track, some great sounds it makes!

This is my favorite movie of all time. Dead serious.

I like the intro and the bass in the beginning, the kick sounds like it's overcompressed that's leading to distortion, or it's clipping, and the hats are too.

"Open your mind... Free Mars!"

"His fortune telling days are ova."

"That's him? No wonder he kept out of sight."

There's some psychedelic shit going on here man. Needs some cleaning though. I would turn off all the FX, go through it and start eliminating problem frequencies while adjusting levels, then automate all your fx.

Think it would add clarity to the mix.

Man I want to watch that movie right now. Once I get that bluray player, it's on like donkey kong 24/7 haha           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

thanks obelizk, I think i'll have to grab a dvd of the movie, no blue ray for me ..... to get the rest of those vocal samples. great ideas!glad you mentioned those, i did remember those sayings in various scenes and it would definitely tie the whole track together in a better way.

I've also played around with some different sounds again and i think i've found an alternative that gives better characteristics to the track. using ACE synth vst instead of triple cheese. or maybe use both?

hmm, it occured to me, it seems a number of you want to make track concerning kuato? could have a little contest to see everybody's different ideas of using this sample in a track? just an idea.
