oh my good, one hit wonders.
nice to see that this thread seperates the people into them, who know and dont know, obviously.
i would never call someone "one-hit-wonder", because only one track with a nice message can say more than 50 albums of a "headliner" who has not much ideas in new tracks and seperates production improvements with innovation.
one of this nice messages-trax is made by martian, its called liquid structure and was released on spiritzone/vinyl. it was also the first track played on voov 2000.

Elysium Project. EP has good moments (especially the ambient tunes) but they fade away in the mass of, eh boring fillers.

I think that's bull-shit . Just listen to Elysium's latest release, fairytale on Quality Relaxation an amazing track, very special... Imo the best track on the compilation.

That reference is most certantly wrong. I have been to the studio with Dom and George quite a few times (Butterfly studios) and knew them very well since I lived in London and worked with them releasing music on Flying Rhino. Dom and George were the only members of Slinky Wizard not Simon or anyone else. Just because you make some tracks with some artists/bands does not make you a member of the band
Simon did also help out a few times as a co-producer as you can see on this early release:
http://www.discogs.com/release/77965
But he has never been a member of Slinky. |

Maybe i am wrong but , I never saw anything from PAPS for ages, whats happening with them, Also, HALDOLIUM...this was great 4/5 years ago....

PAPS!!, was one of my favorites too...he production was way ahead of his time with "sans trant", "vibes from the other side" etc. etc.
Anyways, he releases some stuff on Creamcrop, and (Damaro A/R back then), said he worked in a kind of movie-sound-studio...and made music kind of besides this..I think he went of to make only film music....
A pioneer for sure!

Yes this is obviously also about personal taste..
SO here goes one more:
Sub6.. before the album they had some decent tunes, especially my personal favourite - program flies - however the album did absolutely nothing for me nor did anything they released afterwards..

You're very welcome! When I too went home and put this on to listen to that track again, I came across two other 'one hit wonders' on the compilation- Jugendstil (Tilman Hahn) and Dakota (Marc Engemann along with Tobias Bayer & Daniel "sun" Torhoff (A&R for Sunset Recordings), both of these are excellent deep progressive grooves!

Half of ppl here say one hit wonders of artists who done better work afterwards or very famous artists. One hit wonders should be projects that released one and only good album or track.
Moksha is a good example
Talpa and Misted Mupped only started their way into psytrance so give them some time. Surely Talpa should improove his mixing/mastering abilities as well as many so called "dark" psytrance producers.
Common Haldolium, Elysium and Sub6 are one hit wonders, lol !!!!!! Haldolium is one of most famous projects in progressive trance scene with side projects like Emou and Timetech, Eskimo not even close to what they achieved he just need to listen to other music to know if it's just one hit wonders!
Elysium was releasing music when not many of psytrance artists even were close to produce, he was an inspiration for many producers in 90'! Sub6 getting better and better ! |

Another great (imo) one-off album was Output by Axis.
http://www.psynews.org/reviews/output.htm
I really liked this progressive album and listened to it a lot a few years back. Very mellow and hypnotic.
As you can see from all the visitor reviews, this one was a big 'hit'
Ok... I think i missed the point of this thread but it was an hit with me
Btw, i'd be really interested if anyone knows anything about this artist.
