I don't recall this being posted and couldn't find anything from the search so we'll see how things turn up..
Anyways here are mine:
Talpa. Althou the mastering of the debut was pure crap the music in itself was rather good. But what happened since then? Not much if anything..
Elysium Project. EP has good moments (especially the ambient tunes) but they fade away in the mass of, eh boring fillers.
Moksha. Mophic Labyrint owns but other than that one tune. Not worth much if anything imo.
I'm sure there are tons more but can't recall any at the moment. So I'll fill in later..
Now name yours

Oh, there are lots of these artists that just made an appearance once (or a couple of times, but no album), and also a lot of collaborations which could have been gold, but never came past one or two songs.
Examples:
- Astrological (songs like Call of Anazasi and Moonraker were just pure bliss, but there was never an album)
- Wasabe - Peaceful Turbulence (a great song, can be found on the Pulse 4 compilation. We never heard anything from this one afterwards)
- Strange Bodies - Creeps (a totally smashing collaboration consisting of Tim Schuldt, Biggi & Bim. They could've made a totally storming album IMO, but they never produced more than this song.)
- Soul Pitcher. Made two or three singles, two of them on the Firewire compilation from Optimus records. I thought it sounded pretty promising, especially 'It ain't over till the fat lady sings, which had a great groove going on. Anyway, died out after those singles, never heard more.
And there are numerous more examples where those came from, but these were some of the most prominent in my opinion.

Even if they went downhill (althou I'm sure quite many disagree) even their worst work is about a billion and a half times better than other experimental psychedelic music out there. Imo anyways.
Here's another one hit wonder:
PROJECT-N FEAT. DJ SHAMANE. One great track on va kumharas. But what happened after that? I atleast never heard of them again..

Phreaky... Tornado was their best for me, but wish they'd stuck at it...
Witchcraft... awesome side project of Sandmand and Chakra I think...
there were heaps of others back in the old days on early dragonfly compilations, but they never made it big... early on dragonfly was the label IMO |

Whatever EP. I can understand that not everybody likes them but considering how almost everybody seems to adore their music.. saying that they are a 1 hit wonder is a bit too much..

Edi Miss
The guy produced along with Chakra one of the most influential albums in the psy trance history plus some good tracks on various compilations and after that he just dissapeard.I remember he released a cd with house/techno/experimental music named Have Fun or something like that which was pure crap in my humble opinion but that was something like 5 years ago and since then i never heard of him again.
Green House Effect
The trance project of Sandman that released an amazing album named Global Warming on Hommega but since then no news at all.A big loss if you ask me.
Power Source
One of the greatest israeli bands ever with massive hits like Goaway and Skywalker, active in the early days, they released just one great album and then everybody turned into smoke.
Mystica
Producers of great hits like China,Jamiroquai and Ashes To Ashes, released just one massive album and several tracks on compilations, despite their great success they dissapeared.

cant really say Paps was a 'one' hit wonder. He released quite a lot of stuff (my fav being Vibes from the other side). Think he just moved on from making psy, dunno what he does now tho! |
