for all my 2 years of isratrance reading...
"practive"
everyday I learn something new...
I started with tau-pro...
audiorealism abl2...
and finally alien303...
but now returning to abl2, cause I found
that it doenst deppends on the synth,
it depends on the EQ and some more stuffs
meaning practice with osc´s, key vel, compression
and so on...
got a final word, practice..
u wont make a good bassline in 1 day of practice.
it takes a while...

i used alot of my nord sounds for bass in the beggining.. then got bored with them and drifted to the vb1 and massive eq work.. then moved to use alien303 with psy presets. they are pritty good. shape with little eq. the filter is too sensitive imo in the lower freqs... so use z3ta... now that works like charm! almost no eq needed , no compression , its just THAT!
tight envelopes , is what u after for the perfect clicky part of it , and fat osc is what u want for fatness of the sound , here u got both.
offcourse in any stage of those synths i had better/worse outcomes , but judge throu my new works i think the z3ta is the winner.
oh , and use some square for bass too!! sine! make combinations , why always saw .. its good one but its just one.. www.sattelbattle.com

Hey Elad, I was wondering since z3ta is not available for Mac if Rapture would make a good alternative to z3ta. The sounds are pretty fat, maybe I can make some decent basslines. Maybe it lacks something that z3ta has.
I've been using Omnisphere for bass lately since the Trilogy wrappers suck on my Intel Mac. I am disappointed that Spectrasonics hasn't bothered to come up with a better solution than AU wrappers. Omni has some of the nice Trilogy synth patches though and I've been able to build some pretty fat patches with it. It's a bit of a CPU hog though.

Rapture seems good but it lacks many features like a proper osc detune control for example..
Also i have noticed that you need to draw a whole 16th and then shape the release in the amp section in order to achieve a good sound for bass... overaly i think it is a good synth and as time goes by it can get used too and show some results.. i dont know how close it is to z3ta though.. any people have used them both could give us some feedback actually?

| I agree it is lacking features. But I was able to create a bass out of it that I think sounds pretty damn good. It really cuts through the mix with proper EQ and compression.
