OMF Export Question

Because I work with both Cubase and Logic, I have been exporting all audio from Cubase project into a OMF file.

I then import this OMF file into Logic and all the audio files are there in logic as they were sequenced, but the blocks in the arrangement are not in synch with the grid lines in logic. The audio pieces are in synch with each other when you play it, but if you write new stuff in midi it seems impossible to synch it to the audio imported from OMF.

Yes, I did remember to set the correct BPM of the project.

Any ideas on how to fix this?           Cytopia.org

I tried moving them to snap to grid, gets close but not quite. No idea why, is a real shame, its nice to import cubase project that worked on with a friend into Logic so I can finish it at home.

I'll see if I can make a screenshot later at home.

does this method work vice versa? i mean to export a logic project into a working cubase/nuendo project file?

anyone tried this before?

It should work both ways, but it only uses the audio parts, no midi and no plugs or settings are applied.           Cytopia.org

its just pure guessing, but maybe if its static out of sync it could be a latency issue

but seriously, I had just bad experiences with omf till now.

better try to open the project in cubase and bounce all tracks or groups solo in wav, you shouldnt have a problem that way. but I dont know if cubase got a function like bounce all tracks or if you'd have to do it manually.           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

Think Cubase you can only mixdown each track separately manually.

I found a work around by importing the OMF into Logic and then adjusting the midi I write in logic, so that it is in synch.           Cytopia.org

or just select all tracks from the omf and play around with the delay in the inspector.

this way you dont need to do it again for each new midi-region           https://soundcloud.com/hazak
