I think that a very important thing to a tutorial or a topic for tutorials is about the struture of the psytrance tracks. |

Nice to see this thread (took me a while, I know). Can I just continue submitting my tutorials on this board?
And a recommendation to tutorial writers: I noticed that most tutorials are VERY specific and talk about doing very specific things. A good tutorial can be applied to a very wide range of subjects. I could give a 200 page tutorial on how to emulate analog FX machines using LAP's mixer and 4 simple effects (2 single tap delays without feedback, 2 basic HP/LP filters and some clever wiring in the mixer can give you monstrous effects that sound taken out of Vangelis's most horrible nightmares... only missing the agonized screams of "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY PIANOS?!"). This tutorial will make 10 people copy me exactly, out of them 3 will actually learn and apply this on their own.
If I make the same tutorial in 10 pages, generalizing it to 'mixer rewiring in order to make complex and original effects' then I've made this tutorial appeal to over 10 times as many people, and none of those will have the ability to copy me exactly, as I won't be talking in sequencer-specific terms anymore. Application of ideas will come through understanding by default in this way. http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222 |

I'm really intrested in effects... especially as they relate to psy-trance.
This is where I really struggle.
In exchange I can help on Cubase (VST5) matters, hardware, synchronisation and so on.
Best,
Rusty |

Rusty: the key to effects is an UPGRADE.
SX has an FX right click menu, with which you can destroy any part of any wav file which you have selected with its selection tool. This is the ultimate in effects power, and it uses no CPU other than that which is in use at the time of processing. It's like having Soundforge or Wavelab BACK inside Cubase (like it used to be...)
"Point and shoot effects" are the way to go...reversibility is overrated.

Hmmm... I may have to try this out.
The thing is I write on hardware only....
Haven't actually used Cubase in ages.
But I should / will ahve a look at this as you suggest.
Effects & Percussion I need to sort out. |

Tal,
Did you ever come up with a list of what needs tutorials? It might lead to more submissions if you have a list of people to choose from... |

i got stuck on that.
i dont have enough knoledge to come up with a list, and i didnt get enough input to compile one.
i'm actually very happy with whats been going on in the forum itself, we've had 5 or 6 excellent threads in the last month that seemed to be an independent creation of what we wanted to do with the tutorial.
i'm going to start making a "best of", try to go thru as much of the forum as ic an and pick out the most usefull stuff and compile adn structure it.
at lteast i'kll try.
help would be most aprecaited.
as for the tutroials, i've had a fee PM's and emails from people sayign dyed like to help, and i';ve asked for specific tutorials by people who are storng in specific fields. tiem will show us what they will bring forth.

...but still available! Once you've done your processing in this way (as many times as you like), select the audio event or open it in the audio editor, and then select 'Offline Process History' from the Audio menu...
