I saw this on a local psytrance thread and thought I should share with the group. Maybe we can really make some change happen.

On January 14th, the 1% of psytrance is coming to The Roseland in Portland.
As one of the 99% OF PSYTRANCE, I propose an occupation.
I don't know what all this would entail, as I cannot speak for the 99%OF PSYTRANCE.
You might imagine, though, some picket signs that said things like "Infected Mushroom is the 1%" and pictures of the old and new albums next to each other with words like "The Gap has Gotten Too Big", maybe some beautifully printed posters of "Classical Mushroom" and "the Gathering". We could burn 200 copies of their first couple albums and hand them out to the kids that don't even know how good they once were.
Infected Mushroom just might be the reason that we cannot break even on parties.
Infected Mushroom may be the reason that the housing bubble finally burst. And that's not teal for sarcasm, I am just running out of colors.
Come to think of it, while Infected Mushroom has been getting richer and more terrible, we have all been getting more poor as a society, and a world, for that matter.
I am sure that if you put some thought into this, you can come up with many more awful uncomfortablenesses that Infected Mushroom is responsible for. Don't forget to dwell on your long lost and loved animals over the past 10 years, the jobs that you got passed up on, that time that thing happened at that place and you were sooooo sad. It was Infected Mushroom wasn't it? I know, shhhhh, I know. It's hard to get through this once you start realizing, but you are safe here with the other 98.999%.
Something has to be done.
I cannot do this without you.

Hi, I always thought Infected Mushroom was a lame-o name, because I never want to be infected with anything. In the spirit of rebuilding, let's establisl listening libraries in all major urban centers of the variousm, carefully chosen releases of the subgenres of psy trance. That would heal the cookie cutter vibe. In all seriousness, can we PLEASE get some record store action, eg in NYC? How are other people's record stores? Occupy the Music Business - is it true that psy trance is censored? hmm.. |

My neighbor's dog barks at me even when I just open the sliding back door to the backyard and then continues to bark non-stop even though he'll lick my hand through the fence and wag his tail. I'm pretty sure when Duvdev started singing on albums it opened up a portal where, like, annoying stuff comes through that mostly dogs can hear and that dog thinks it's my fault but he's not really sure because we only moved in a couple of years ago but he barks at me anyway just because it might stop the annoying sounds coming through the portal that Duvdev opened. I am the 99%. |
