Hungarian law updates: just in case you're wondering.
Although we might have a different opinion on rules and regulations, in the Ozorian Prophet we have already written about how important respecting the law is. We recommend that everyone keeps this in mind, especially because we would like you to arrive at the festival safely and spend your time there, together with us all, the best way possible, getting back home in one piece and peace.
Many of you have asked us about the actual Hungarian laws and regulations since the happenings of the previous two years, which could be relevant for festival-goers en route to the festival and during their stay in Hungary and the Ozorian Valley.

The Hungarian government has introduced a stricter Criminal Code coming into force on 1st July 2013, concerning issues that Ozorians should also be aware of.

Drinking and driving
Don’t drink and drive! Especially if your Blood Alcohol Level is over 0,5 BAC level, instead of the 0,8 BAC permitted so far. What does this mean? Well, for an average 80kg man it would be two glasses of wine or a mug of beer.
Oh! By the way, if you think you’ll be able to convince the authorities that your alcohol tolerance is higher than that of an average person, forget it! Based on the new Criminal Code, this doesn’t really matter.

Drug policy
You are not allowed to possess narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. No surprise there. You can find the list (List K1 and K2) of what counts as a narcotic drug and psychotropic substances (Lists P1, P2, P3 and P4) at
http://www.njt.hu/cgi_bin/njt_doc.cgi?docid=147263.233024

Details
Any person who produces, manufactures, acquires, possesses, imports or exports narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances into or from Hungary or who transports such substances through the territory of Hungary is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for one to five years. The legal consequences are less severe in case of a small quantity of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances. Any person who produces, manufactures, acquires, possesses, imports or exports a small quantity of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances into or from Hungary or who transports such through the territory of Hungary is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to two years.
Any person who consumes or acquires a small quantity of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances for personal consumption is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to two years. The abuse of new psychoactive substances is also prohibited. This means any designer drugs.
Any person who imports or exports new psychoactive substances into or from Hungary or who transports such through the territory of Hungary, or produces, offers, supplies, or is engaged in the distribution or dealing in new psychoactive substances, is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for up to three years.

Important
Always have your driving license, passport, ID, your Hungarian consulate’s number with you at all times! You should also know that you have the right to an attorney and a translator at all times and do not sign anything you don’t understand. Even more important, dear brothers and sisters, please take care of yourselves and each other! There’ll always be regulations, rules and new world orders, but one thing we know for sure, it is us together, as a whole entity, who have the power to beam love and light.

O.Z.O.R.A. 2014 NEWSLETTER

Fellow Ozorians, goanauts and psytravellers!
Below we collected all the important information, practical advice and an overview of the different festival locations just for you. We hope you can find the answers to all of your questions!

TICKETS
After a long night in Camden, before a late Israeli breakfast in the neighborhood of Ben Gurion Street, walking between two ruin pubs in downtown Budapest, hanging around in Tokyo or Cape Town, travelling festivalgoers can get their hard copy tickets in more and more places around the world. Buying tickets via the Internet, however, seems to cause much more headache. There are three websites where you can purchase tickets online:

O.Z.O.R.A. WEBSITE – http://ozorafestival.eu/tickets

With the method directly available on the Ozora website, first you have to register with your email address to the Psychedelic Tribal Association. After this you have to give your name, which will appear on the ticket. Clicking on the ‘Buy a voucher’ button you are directed to a Paypal webpage where you can pay via your account or with your debit card. After a successful transaction, you get an invoice from Paypal and a voucher from O.Z.O.R.A. Festival with the name of the ticket owner and the voucher number (with a picture and a barcode).
With this voucher you can get your festival wristband at the gates.

ACCESS ALL AREAS – http://www.accessallareas.org/

On the Access All Areas webpage you can choose from several payment methods: Credit/Debit card, Cheque (U.K. orders only) or bank transfer. You can get your voucher by email, post or in person at the Camden office.

HADRA WEBSITE – http://www.hadra.net/

On the Hadra webpage, after you have chosen how many tickets you would like to buy, you have to register. After the registration, you can choose from three payment methods: bank transfer, debit card or cheque. You receive your voucher with its serial number by email.

TRAVEL
The exact location of the O.Z.O.R.A. festival is Dádpuszta, Hungary. GPS: 46°46’12″N 18°26’12″E

ON THE ROAD – Coming to Ozora by car can be an affordable and convenient way of getting there, especially if you fill your vehicle up with passengers. Not only is it cheaper to share the costs, but this way your CO footprint is also smaller… Bonus!
If you have room in your vehicle, please feel free to post your travel plans in our various internet forums to try and fill up the spaces!

BY PLANE – Flying is no doubt one of the easiest ways to reach our country. All major International Airlines land at the main Hungarian international airport (Liszt Ferenc International Airport, Budapest). The airport is situated about half an hour away from the city center.

RAILWAYS – If you choose to travel to Ozora by train, there is a cheap regular train service (with extra carriages) to Simontornya many times a day. Trains depart from Déli Pályaudvar (Déli pu. = Southern Railway Station) and usually stop at Kelenföld Railway Station in Budapest. The Party Bus Shuttle will be waiting for you there to take you to the gates. They transport you to the festival for ~€3.

CAMPING / CARAVANS
Though every proper festival-freak can survive even on the tip of an iceberg, one of the most important things at a week-long festival is a comfortable and safe campsite. There is nothing more uplifting than seeing a camp spring up in the gentle embrace of nature in which we can comfortably sit down in front of our tent or caravan, settling in our temporary, yet seemingly everlasting alternative home. The beautiful Ozorian valleys have more than 100 acres of grassy fields perfect for camping with many tree-shaded areas where you can create your dream festival abode. Camping is free of course and you can also park next to your tent if you want to.
!IMPORTANT! Those of you parking down- or uphill, on any kind of slope, DO NOT FORGET to set your emergency hand-brakes and find some wheel chocks, rocks, bricks, logs, etc to put behind or in front of your tires to make sure your car doesn’t roll free and cause an accident.

ECOLOGY
BUILDINGS – Even if we tried, we couldn’t find a place as close to nature and as environment-friendly as the Ozorian Valley. The biggest advantage of this space is that it continually, with each new year, keeps evolving, growing with long-lasting structures and installations. Here everything is made from the materials found on site, mainly acacia, reed and wicker. A good example is the new Tower built this year that you could already see on several photos in its first stages of creation. The material used here: 200 cubic meters of acacia planted for firewood at the Telev Tree Farm. They were 40-year-old trees waiting to be cut down and sold as firewood. Instead they were rescued from disappearing into carbon dioxide and are transforming into a long-lasting, much-loved new addition to the Ozorian Valley. Small acacias have been planted in their place at the Tree Farm.

NEW TOILETS – We’re really happy to announce that there will be no more ugly plastic toilets spoiling the magical landscape of the Ozorian Valley. In addition to the more than 200 shower stalls on site at present, more than 450 green outdoor toilets will be built on the festival grounds to stand in place of the portable ones used previously (and the transport of which, as they had to be replaced twice a day, resulted in a lot of CO2 pollution). A big green advantage is that they do not need to be emptied and, based on rough estimates, 80% of the waste can be used later on to fertilize the farmfields around the festival.

ART GALLERY
MIRADOR – The new tower and art gallery of Visionary Art crowns and elevates not only the new exhibition area but also the colorfulness of the festival’s overall visual culture, a new addition to the endlessly evolving and expanding playground experience. This new Ozorian landmark stands for an especially thrilling and spectacular milestone in our culture. A tower of visionary art, both a lookout and an outlook on an alternative visual world, offering insight into the mind, imagination, worldview and soul of the artists, opening windows unto the abyss above and below. As we call it, Mirador, where technical and artistic inventiveness and exploration is interwoven with psychedelic, spiritual and mystic atmospheres and symbols, where the festival’s musical universe and ancient transcendental cultures merge into an even deeper and more lasting multisensory experience. The tower art gallery will also be home to some amazing live painting, workshops and lectures by e.g. Android Jones (USA), Re:Sorb (DE), Ihti Anderson (UKR), The Vienna Academy of Visionary Art (A / I), Laurence Caruana (FR), Lele Cosmo (IT), Martin Cash (USA), Timea Tallian (A), Benedetto Fellin (A), Quen Di (SK), Inkbrushnme (IN), Jake Kobrin (USA), Subliquida (I), Bios (HU), Emma Watkinson (UK), NekoPix (HU), Norbert Papp (HU), Manu Morvan (FR), Daniel Rotenberg (IS) and many more artworks from other visionary artists.
We hope you love it as much as we do! And always stay visionary!

WORKSHOPS
DRAGON AGORA – It’s great news that the Dragon Agora, where most of the workshops took place in the past two years, has outgrown itself. Therefore this year the Agora will transform into a healing area during the day. Here you can experience a multitude of ancient healing and relaxing techniques with qualified masters of acupuncture, ayurveda, alexander technique, craniosacral therapy, lomi lomi, prana nadi, reflexology, shiatsu, tibetan healing bowls and thai massage, to list just a few.

ARTibarn – Most of the other workshops are moving to their new home this year, into a building that has been renovated especially for them. As you can guess from its very telltale name, the ARTibarn will house a most diverse array of arts’n’crafts workhops, including basket weaving, batik, bodypainting, ceramics, board games, felting, forging, glassblowing, hacker’s space, jewelry and talismans, re-art, retextil, stonemagic, tribal mask carving, kite making.
As in the previous years, the movement workshops such as acro yoga, aikido, ashtanga yoga, belly dance, capoeira, chi kung, chi practise, flamenco, morning yoga, pilates, traditional balinese dance, wing tsun, yogalates will be located in the PYRAMID.

LECTURES
CHAMBOK HOUSE – Just like in the last few years, Chambok House visitors can again hear and soak in a number of outstanding lectures, this time from Ágnes Repka (HU), Daniel Pinchbeck (USA), Darija Baric (HR), Ede Frecska (HU), Emma Watkinson (UK), Graham St. John (AUS), Irda Risdiarti (ID), Jake Kobrin (USA), Manuel Villaescusa (ES), Mark Horne (UK), Martin Cash (USA), Michael Wadada (UK), Mythopolis (IND), Olivier Bernard (FR-USA), Péter Simor (HU), Raja Ram (USA), Riki Papp (HU), Rosa Rosa Guerilla Gardeners (D), Sára Vargha (HU), Tanja Topolocev (HR), Vanja Varga (HR), Vincent Liege (FR), Zlatko Baracskai (HU). You can also listen to and learn from many other artists, workshop-leaders, musicians working on site, as well as some prominent members of the scene during the daily round table talks, which proved so successful last summer.

CIRCUS
Over 100 international artists from all over the world gather in the Psyrcus tent and join the Ozorian Troupe that comes alive only for this one week once a year to entertain the audience with a performance never seen anywhere before, a performance specifically dreamt up for the O.Z.O.R.A. Festival!

Here you’ll also find many exciting workshops held by internationally acknowledged professional artists, where you can learn juggling and flow-arts and try out even more difficult circus attractions like the trapeze or the cyr wheel.
As many of you know by now, juggling and fire shows are also elemental features of the opening ceremony. This year the festival will blast off with an amazing multi-arts show presented by the rightfully world-famous MAGMA FIRETHEATER.
PSYCRUS 2014 – Andrey DAS (F) Antti Suniala (FIN) Cosmica (AU) Fire Circus Walkea (LT) Firebirds (HU) Firespace (D) Freak Fusion Cabaret (HU) Ian Deady (UK) Infinitos (CZ) Matthias Romir (D) Solstix (D)

MAIN STAGE
The festival is a continuous realization of a conscious, well composed concept, which expands and evolves right before your eyes year by year, culminating in the Main Stage and the towers that appeared on the dancefloor last year. Their day and night-time animations acted as forerunners of the overall picture you’ll experience for the first time this year.
For this reason the creators of the Main Stage deco in 2014 will be the festival’s own O.Z.O.R.A. Deco Team, made up of people who live and breathe with the festival 365 days a year.
Though many Ozorian Crew members also play a part in the creation process, the TRIXX Deco Team will be responsible for most of the work, including the final designs, artistic concept and realization. They have been proving themselves worthy of creating amazing deco and visuals for 15 years, on the scene in general and at the festival as well. We also mustn’t forget to mention SOULDUST, who’s bringing the towers to life and who was, by the way, one of the very first Hungarian goa/psy deco designers and creators in the mid-90’s. But the overall visual experience would not be complete without the young and upcoming HEALIUM Crew’s LED system, the CIRKO ORGANIKO team responsible for bringing to life the Magic Garden Teahouse, the staircase leading down from the Pyramid and the monumental Adam-Eve, or the technical-mechanical crew who make sure the festival runs as smoothly as envisioned.
No more spoilers, just to make sure that the deco and visual experience is as mindblowing as it should be every year.
