Maybe if i agree there's too much dark psytrance during the night in Ozora Festival...industrial festival
I really prefer the music played in the morning & afternoon...

well that's because you have also really nice and not faster then 148bpm stuff what is perfect for the night, but don't have those acts on Ozora (except Derango), if u were reading on posts before, you can see mainly is extreme fast industrial stuff.
anyway that's the beauty we all are unique with our perceptions and tastes, so is good to have variety in sound, I mean there are many people that stick mainly to the mainfloor, and if you would play only that goa and oldschool honestly after 48 hours it got boring.
variety and actually the main thing in Ozora is not line up but all the rest arround. |

how about creating one extra dark 10000000bpm stage in some hidden location, far away from the main area? |

@Bubble....
I want to make my travel plans and I will have to leave as soon as the festival ends. On Aug 7th... At what time can we expect the main stage to close? An estimated time would be VERY useful. Thanks |

you are all acting as kids....
from 6 or 7 days on OZORA, only first two nights are dedicated to dark psy... only thing I would change, if not adding one more dark night, is to separate those two nights. For example, why not having dark first and fourth night?
anyhow, after all this years, I have a full trust in ozora crew expertize

Pfffff!
Yes, i probably misunderstood you Vlip Psyde, and i'am sorry because i don't want to offend you.
But many guys still despise computer-made music...
|
|
Ok, in that case my rant is invalid. Sorry about that
Some of my best friends are actually despising computer-made music. 'uh where are the drums and where are the guitars?' *sigh*.. One of them even calls everything electronic just 'trance'. I agree that seems kind of short sighted.. But yah, to each his own taste eh..
And LudiBes, I don't know what you call dark psy, it seems you have quite a different opinion.. In my opinion everything played from around 1am every night was pretty dark unmelodic stuff. Some nights it even started at 11pm. There are quite a bunch of artists on the line-up that I would call dark psy to fill every night, and then there are also the DJ's who only play dark psy at night. I agree with others that it's too loud and too speedy/boring for me. While this just allows me to go to sleep at night, I do think the dark stuff starts too soon...
Because during the day, it's sometimes very hot and I'm afraid that the sun will burn me so I like dancing in the evening and night more.. So in that sense I would like to see more progressive, goa and 'happy full-on' in the evenings and nights aswell. On the other hand, this would mean that dark acts would have to be scheduled during the day, which might not be a good idea |

well if you consider Union Jack, Christof, Pleaidians, etc as dark then is something wrong with your defintion of darkpsy.
anyway I hardly heared any darkpsy at Ozora 2010 |

Nice line-up, really high quality stuff! I can see why some say it looks quite like last year's line-up, (same goes for chill) but good quality! And really nice to see the old school masters still are heavily represented.
I really liked the festival last year and I am sure I will be back this summer! Good vibes!
One thing that makes me wonder is that labels like Glowing Flame and sub-genres like Suomi Soundi are not represented at all, since they fit perfectly into the vibe of the festival, I really think it will add even more welcomed diversity into the festival experience, and I don't think they have budget-breaking booking-prices (I imagine). So just as a though for the years to come, I really think it would be a healthy and highly psychedelic evolution.
Good luck with all the preparations! |

No those are not darkpsy indeed, in fact in an earlier post I called Union Jack and Pleiadians goa.
And yes I suppose they played quite late. But they seemed like exceptions to me. Just my perception though. I left the dancefloor whenever dark stuff came on (which was quite early IMO), so I might have missed a few acts who played in between the darkpsy. I did see Union Jack though, and it was awesome But I think they played in the evening, yes?
I think we best leave this discussion and just attribute it to a difference in opinion on genres and a difference in musical tastes.... |

Warning may contain hints of personal bias:
Sunshine lovers got served up nicely as always, good on that! What lacks direction in a serious way is the booking of "nighttime" acts. With the exception of Derango there are much, much better representatives of that branch of music out there.
It does not seem to be a point of serious focus for the festival. Bring on some edgy and danceable music that represents the pinnacle, not the lowest common denominator.

wise words Monno
but sadly they seem to stick with "the lowest common denominator" . . .
There are so many TOP notch nightime artists that NEVER played at ozora, but some increadibly low quality artists that are confirmed year after year..
sad..
well...im thankful for Derango. . .
he should play a set every night.
line up is closed? full? confirmed? |
