I suppose it has everything to do with my music tastes gradually changing (and maybe the fact that I've never done drugs), but I haven't really liked any psytrance that came out in the last few years. To me it all sounds like amateuristic, pseudopsychedelic software-synth crap. No creativity, no surprises, no courage to try something different, nothing fresh. There are a FEW exceptions, like the last Prometheus album. And maybe it's just my sentiments, but I still very much like the old school acts, they have a whole different kind of energy which appeals a lot to me. And... I'm a great fan of Ultimae and Twisted records (read: OTT, Solar Fields, Asura, CBL, etc)
In summary: for me, this line up is great But I suppose that also has a lot to do with the fact that I don't often go to festivals, so I don't get bored with the acts. But there must be a lot of like-minded people out there, otherwise Ozora would not be so popular and grow every year?
Imagining I WOULD often go to festivals, I can see where the criticism is coming from though

It is so easy to say that using a computer to produce music sounds "amateuristic, pseudopsychedelic"....
Try it yourself! |

I'm not sure what your point is. Maybe you misunderstood me. I did not say that using a computer to produce music sounds "amateuristic, pseudopsychedelic".. I said that almost all psytrance that came out over the past few years sounds like amateuristic, pseudopsychedelic software-synth crap to me. But don't get me wrong, I think a computer is a very powerful musical instrument when handled well. Some 'computermusic' from the chillout scene for example sounds a lot better to me. It's the producers who make it sound like software-synth crap to me. When I hear music and I can almost see what it would look like in Cubase, that just doesn't work for me.
And yes it is easy to say that I don't think it sounds good, that's because I like listening to music and I automatically compare it to other stuff I've heard and place it in my frame of reference, and thus I form an opinion on it. But I am not very good at producing music on a computer (I have tried it a bit, but it soon turned out that it was wasted energy ).
But IMO those two things have nothing to do with each other. Are you implying that because it's too hard for me to produce good quality music, I should not call other music "amateuristic, pseudopsychedelic"? That I just have to like it or be silent about it cause I can't make better computer music myself?
O yea and Filteria is another example of an artist whose recent work I do like Very glad to see him at Ozora, hope to be able to make it this year! |

Hello Everyone ,
Thanks for the comments (praises or not ) we will obviously learn from them but it will be no sooner than next year.
As for ticket prices ! I have great news !
When you thought here is another year and another price hike then comes Ozora and does this :
PRE SALE :
LIMITED EDITON EARLY BIRD TICKETS : 70 euros(available soon)
(this is 5 euros less than last year )
We hope we can ease the economic crunch by letting you party for less !
peace and love

goa ?
what goa?
since when is ozora a goa festival ?
music in ozora is either industrial techno at day or speedcore darkpsy... theres a reason it has a bigass fire near the dancefloor... ever heard of an ancient human custom called sacrifice ? |

Pfffff!
Yes, i probably misunderstood you Vlip Psyde, and i'am sorry because i don't want to offend you.
But many guys still despise computer-made music...
And i would really like to get a Juno 106, a tb 303, a cute Vocoder, and some other funny hardware stuff!
Maybe if i agree there's too much dark psytrance during the night in Ozora Festival...Even if i also think that this trance style is too loud or too speed ( i make me think to trying to win a flying gliders competition using an iron ;-) )and i would like to hear some happy fullon or some dizzy goa psytrance, please don't exaggerate!...Nothing to do with a industrial festival (and i like ebm/industrial music, , due to my mining Wals origin...but i prefer Trance!) The atmosphere seems to be more friendly! ;-)
I really prefer the music played in the morning & afternoon... |
