I'm working on two different events; one at CHAC/Lower Level and the other at Columbia City Theatre.
My personal fave will be New Year's Eve at the Columbia City Theatre. Details are still trickling out, but there will be music by Osiris Indriya (Iboga Records), Michael Manahan (Oracle Gatherings), Amanita (IOSIS Art Party) and Shapeshifter (Static Factory), plus peformances by aerialists, contortionists, acrobats, illusionists and more by PURE Cirkus. Expect more announcements soon!

Pure Cirkus started out as a Seattle based piercing/ suspension group called P.U.R.E. (people undergoing real experiences). Over the course of 3 years the group grew larger and larger as it began to perform shows both public and private, pulling together many talented performers who strived to push the limits of the human mind and body in an ancient art form that dates back to the oldest mummy found to date until it finally evolved into what is now PURE CIRKUS. As P.U.R.E entered into its 3rd year performing all over Seattle it spawned its own fire troupe, run by Xavier Frost and Jennifer Morgensen. Soon enough it began to take on all forms of entertainers such as jugglers, clowns and other creeds of artists that simply wanted to place that they could entertain and grow as a performer. So began Pure Cirkus. The group that began as a private get together of friends to create an inspiring personal experience born out of our primordial society has transformed into Pure Cirkus. A blend of clowns, fire, suspension/piercing, dancers, acrobats, musicians and artists from all over that have come together to build what we hope will be a long lasting cirkus that will come to entertain people for generations. http://www.purecirkus.com/

Breaks to Tribal Progressive through Hard Techno and Psytrance
Osiris Indriya (Iboga Records, Oracle Gatherings, IOSIS Art Party) is a legend of the West Coast Underground Dance scene. He has been featured with underground artists such as Brian, Brad, and Trevor of L.A. Moontribe, Manoj of Uplift in Portland, OR, trance goddess Phoenix Olivia in Vancouver B.C., and Lorin (bassnectar) from Santa Cruz/SF, CA. Osiris has also been featured along side recording artists Human Blue (Spiral Trax, chill code - Sweden), Ganga Giri (Australia) and SunControlSpecies (Zenon, Iboga - Australia), as well as Antix, Beat Bizarre, and DJ Banel from Danish Progressive label Iboga Records where he is now an official label DJ. He is a weekly resident at Contour Night Club in Seattle for IMPULSE Thursdays. All this while playing at forest, desert, beach, and indoor gatherings, club nights, and festivals up and down the west coast, as well as internationally including the Double 6 in Kuta, Bali and Shambhala Music Fesival in Nelson, Canada. Driven to take Seattle to the next level, Osiris has been deep into creating several projects. He has teamed up with Infinite Connections to bring the best of Europe’s tribal progressive trance music and world class art to the Pacific Northwest in a series of events called IOSIS Art Parties. As co-founder of the Oracle Gatherings, he is bringing a new paradigm in a growing dance community by integrating with the Northwest’s mythical undercurrent. Michael Manahan (Oracle Gatherings) has been involved in the underground visionary arts culture in Seattle for over 12 years as a DJ and event and music producer. Hailing from the burgeoning San Francisco house scene of the early 90s, Michael co-produced the original northwest full-moon celebrations lasting 5 years. Holding several residencies and as co-founder of the Oracle Gatherings, Michael has led many up and down the west coast through their dance journeys, from San Francisco to Vancouver, B.C. through Ashland and Portland and even Hawaii. His style remains deep, tribal house dipped in funk, peppered with bhangra, accompanied by beats that hit you like a rippling earthquake. Shapeshifter (Static Factory Media/Buddhaful) as flagship turntable artist for Static Factory Media, Shapey continues to bring the art of turntablism to the world of electronic music. Known for hip-hop and nu skool breaks, down tempo and D&B, Shapey's distinct style of DJing is a must see. Striving to utilize the turntable as an instrument, Shapeshifter is also a strong member of the ten-piece funk/improv band, Marmalade (http://www.buddhaful.com), with a residency at Tost Lounge in Fremont for three years. With years of turntable artistry and event production under his slipmat, Shapey has helped create the magic of Fremont's Mardi Gras Masqurade Ball 2005, Critical Mass-Seattle's Burningman Recompression 2004, Phoenix Fest 2005, and produces the 6-year running Gathering of the Ram. Shapeshifter has played with many of Seattle's premier talent such as KJ Sawka, Freeschool featuring Reggie Watts, Darek Mazzone, FourthCity, and rocked such venues as The House of Blues and Club Ice in Las Vegas, Le Bunker (Rio de Janeiro), Le Floride's 30th Anniversary Party (Nantes, France) and IOT Disco Teche in Tarragonna, Spain.
A surprise waiting to happen
Phidelity (www.phidelity.com) aka Kris Northern is a veteran psy-chill DJ/producer from San Francisco. Hailing back from the early 90's rave scene, Kris developed the taste for psychedelic soundscapes and beats primarily of the storytelling flavor and has since forged his own unique style of mixing incorporating a wide palette of musical styles and tying his sets together with theme based storytelling elements.

Greg Skidmore (Oscillate/thePGSeries) Along with Paul Edwards and Patrick Haenelt, Greg Skidmore brings in world-class producers and DJs through the auspices of their PG Series and Oscillate weeklies, respectively. Behind the Technics, Greg has earned a reputation as Seattle's foremost authority on esoteric electro and as a connoisseur of quality IDM. In fact, heads have started calling these styles “Skidmore music” due to his absolute mastery of them. All this and the dude just started shaving last year. (Dave Segal)
Smooth Downtempo
Cory Michael (einsoff) has had a fascination with rhythm since the tender age of 6 when he began drum lessons. He was so into the "drum set" that he swore off any beats not made "the real way". Those words tasted soooo good as he danced to house for the first time some years later. Another large influence at a young age was hip hop beats; maybe that is the root of his fascination with broken beats. His love of dancing brought him to DJing and he started dabbling after being inspired by the best of the Seattle underground scene. He started playing house of all sorts (whatever records he could borrow), then worked his way into breaks and down tempo. He still listens to all varieties of music, but anything with a broken beat holds a special place in his heart.

This is Seattle's most infamous party venue from the mid-nineties. Michael Manahan actually lived here for a while when it was inhabitied by the Groovalicious Love Tribe... which got this venue to be called the Lish House.
I remember my first party here in 1998 and how much I hated Techno and House! I found the drum and bass room and started to smile.
