This lack of New Year's Eve psy-trance parties in London - does that suggest that psy-trance is no longer popular in the capital? Are all the true psy-trancers having to go else where, 'cause London has lost the art of a true trance party?

Not wanting to put down the ONLY one advertised, but what is happening here? This is my first New Year in the UK for 20 years, and I was looking forward to a mass of parties to choose from. Looks like I'll have to stay in and save my energies for New Year in Cape Town 2006/2007? I know what happens when there is a choice of one party to go to. Had that too many times in Jo'burg - no offense to Lunatech - but without competition, it just never had that competitive edge that drives a party to success.

Come on Guys you cannot be serious?

I have had this feeling in my bones that psy-trance doesn't really exist in London anymore. I have been to few parties of late, where I simply didn't recognize the style. Its as though I am in the wrong scene, excepting the fact that I have over 500 psy-trance CDs and buy around 5 or 6 a month. Seems strange - can anyone guide me to where its actually gone? Found 100% psy-trance in Germany (Fullmoon) and Brixton Achedemy, but that's really all for this year. The rest of the parties have had a mixed flavour to them, as though they are trying to cater for a wider audience - progressive trance / hard house / electronica / techno?????           Smile, its a new day!

I agree, very little parties to what I expected! And the ones that are going on are not really my style of party or music.....come on organisers, give us something to work with here!           :: Life can be as bitter as dragon tears
But whether dragon tears are bitter or sweet
depends entirely on how each man perceives the taste ::

I absolutely agree broo!!I read in some other posts that there is diversity in the psy scene in london....pffffff!!!ive been here 4 yrs and im telling u the diversity is limited...either old promoters wont let new entrants in the scene or ppl in the capital r still with the same tastes as 4-5 yrs ago..
well its sad...

I've said it before - but if no one is doing the music you like - get a venue, get some DJs & decor, knock up some flyers and sell some tickets/pass round the bucket.. and have a party!!

Its not rocket science...

Well..Im gonna be in London in a few weeks for a lil while. Spoke to a coupla old psyheads and they ALL pointed to the mass media one. I still think the Synergy Project idea is nice, a good idea for a Nye gathering ( in fact they have some incredibly interestin lineups over their last events, and that is so rare and proves they are versatile) but only wish i could go crazy to some established psytrance act or Dj in the capital. Last year i had a ball with broken toy and MWNN

Oh well..b2c, we can always grab a pint or two.

u r all crazy...im talking abt an international headliner...a big bomb!!not the same english djs u have had for the last 5 yrs...bring some diversity guys,..its bad to say that in london, supposely the "cool" place in europe, not to have big parties like in other european cities..go check some other countries to see whats going on..for instance in cyprus,a tiny island, xmas day the had MEnog LIVE and Shift Dj set...2 monsters that own record labels and played in one of the biggest festivals..BOOM 2004!
what else can i say??
hope somebody make a move soon for some new blood in this town...

Its a pity there is no Coronet this year, last years was very good. Dont want to end up in a hard trance event in Brixton academy, might pop down to the squat
