So, I didn't arrive at this party (from Philly) until close to 3:00 (thanks to a two hour hold-up on the Tri-Boro bridge). But once I walked in I was immediately dazzled by the amazing deco. Also, the venue was just the perfect size; small enough to keep everyone close, but large enough for you to back up and take a breather without getting stomped upon.

And I will have to agree that the vibe of this party was the best I've felt in an NYC indoor since Pondscum in Nov '06. There were none of the divisive/agressive vibes that I frequently feel where partying with the NY folks.

I give kudos to Noam for a well produced event. Sure, some of the music wasnt really my bag; but I used that time to enjoy the brisk evening and the wonderful view on the roof.

And I have to admit that I saw many familiar faces from different "cliques" smiling and getting down on the dance floor for the duration of the event together, virtually hand-n-hand as a close knit trance scene should be.

It was like a breath of fresh air for the NYC scene. And of course the Philly vibe can never be duplicated...

But I have to say that I am now much more motivated to go and party indoors with all you big city folk at the next possible opportunity.

Also, cheers to Max for putting together a great live set. It was the musical highlight of the evening for me. It was very danceable while still psychedelic, with no cheese included.

Much love to the NYC crew. I hope all the parties this year will have such a friendly and loving vibe.

what a party!! big love to max, noam, and all others involved in orchestrating this craziness!

special props for flying in an awesome international deco artist! it was so cool to have such fresh and original art all around to set the mood. my only suggestion would be to in the future bring more blacklights so that all of the tapestries can be fully illuminated!

as for the rather heated discussions that have dominated this thread... in my experience within the psytrance scene i have found that most people are verrrry particular about their taste in music. of course this occurs in all scenes, but many tranceheads ive met are PARTICULARLY particular. given that psytrance is comprised of a wide and colorful (at least, if you're into that whole synesthaesia thing) spectrum of styles, it is only natural that our diverse and subjective music tastes won't always agree.

of course, this natural variation is not a negative thing; quite the contrary. variety is the spice of life! as a music aficionado i enjoy engaging with people who have completely different music preferences than i, to get a better understanding of the music they like and their reasons for liking it. actually, ive accidentally discovered some of my favorite artists this way.

that being said, friendly debates about music taste turn ugly when people present their personal opinions as the gospel truth. it's one thing to say that you hate/love this or that artist, but to say an artist or style of music IS disgusting & appalling/INHERENTLY good music is a whole other ballgame. i find the "your music isn't psychedelic!" discussion particularly ridiculous. responsible parties, you are not the psychedelic dictionary nor the acid police. nobody put you in charge of defining what is and isn't trippy for the rest of us; i think we can make up our minds for ourselves. for me, psychedelia is about connecting with others through our differences as well as our similarities. it's not about forcing definitions or building walls but about breaking them down. actually, i find most claims to objectivity to be decently anti-psychedelic; but of course, that is just my subjective opinion

I disagree with the people who said xama and lab sucked. I thought the people after them were not that great. Earworm was ok but too full on for me. Full on is so boring. Same melodies over and over. Lab was insane! Non stop furious action! Just the way I like it.

Awesome party, I had a great time, I thought the music was fantastic, the place was awesome, and the Deco was out of control, at one point I thought the room was moving.

Noam you are the man, and so is Obama....

I didnt got there on time for Xama's set, but I heard the end of lab's set, it was pretty sweet, and tryambaka is when shit went down, and props to the local dude, Max, you live set was fuckn awesome...

the only thing that bothered me a little bit, just a little bit, was the line for the bathroom.

Big thanks to Noam and crew for putting everything together. This was one unforgettable night, great vibe, sweet place(thanx Sam!), cheap drinks!, awesome upstairs view. The deco looked so good but there were some pieces hanging out in a dark corner that needed some UV action. The piece behind the DJ booth was absolutely brain splattering by the way. Someone bring this guy back in the summer to deck out a festival! Big thanks to the artist, I liked some of the music, some of it wasn't my cup of tea but that left time for me to catch up with all of the trance veterans that showed up for this. Repsychle sure set the bar high, looking forward to more! Have pix to share...eventually.

Earworm and Spectra really hit the spot...brought me (and im sure a lot of others) back in time to the good old days of Pure goa trance with punching bassline variations....Boom!
