I also like that label sound! And would really like to know too!!
All the artists have that unique touch that I can't explain.
When your ear it, you know it's Nutek!
I don't if it is the mastering... or producer's techniques. |

Please don't say Access Virus. And if you do suggest a not so expensive solution that actually come close to those sounds. |

I'm not a fan of those harsh access TI sounds!
What I like in Nutek is that crystal clear sound ..
Mekkanikka and Painkiller have it.
I recorded a track from Mekkanikka myspace just to analize the spectrum.
It had a massive cut from 10K to 11k!
Probably it was the myspace player... it only streams at 128kbps.
Soon I will buy an original.
They use lots of buffer underrun and crazy sluter efffects.. both on leads, drums and percussion.
It's a really tech sound!

access virus are collecting dust in many studios.. you don t need one except if it s the sound you are after offcourse (vsti are close ,sometimes sounding worst sometimes better...depends the sounds)
it s not the tool used it s how you use them... it don t help much i know , try lot of detuned sounds ,envelop modulation on pitch ... not many sound playing at once to keep the kick bass well in front, lot of ryhtmic stuff |

Thanks guys.
I've been asking here and there and have found that this guys seem to love uad plugins. I listened to Mekkanikka, Sirius Issnes and Mad Maxx liveacts this weekend and wow... those filters man, those distorted leads running filters like no other... also they seem to have very nice chopping and arranging techniques.
Hi Quality psytrance if you ask me.
research goes on... |

i think in this psytrance you don t have to sound dated ,it s more about hi teck futurist sounds, trying new things ...maybe listen to some glitchy/abstract music,it might give you some idea for tricks and audio editing to add to your psytrance tracks .
in some tracks it make me think to techno with dj like jeff mills who were doing some tricks on the desk and mk2 every few bars ,it was pushing more and more, it s a bit the same technic you replace the dj doing your own breaks in the timeline. |

if analize every mp3 spectrum there in every track a cut at 12000hz...because the mp3 cut the high frequency
all the crew used UAD PLUG-In.....and after there are a bog mastering work
|
|
The mastering job is really good.
About that cut 12Khz, I'm not so sure if it is the mp3.
I've analized other mp3 files from other labels and none has that cut.
About that tech sound, I think they do massive EQ boosts on some freqs to bring out the best parts of the sound!
And then compensate by reducing the gain! O_o

I'm sorry I have no idea about the label nor the sound... so I don't really know what's so special.
