TRANCE - Unnatural sleep or partly unconcious state of mind.
Ever since ive discovered psytrance - Electronic psychedelic music inducing TRANCE effect was psytrance for me.. the music which actually takes u into the trance state..Astral projection.. Shiva Shidapu.. infected mushroom.. skazi.. were the few amongst many who took me into it at the beginning.
Lately ive been wondering about the evolution or rather new phase of psytrance music which is good , but does it stay true to TRANCE? do you think cheesy , full on dance music could be called TRANCE ? before i have experience the state of trance...close my eyes..feel the music..in many parties.
Surprisingly minimal deep psychedelic music is not appreciated nowadays.. just dance dance and dance.. whether it be morning night or afternoon ! Forgot how to dance on low tempo psy music ? changing yourself with the time apart.. i like new music and also enjoy it.... but then should it be called TRANCE MUSIC ? or DANCE MUSIC ?

may it be psytrance or for instance the forum isratrance .. but there is association of word 'Trance'. Why ? if it has got nothing no more to do with this effect ? (ofcourse with some exceptions) |

i agree there is alot of trance happening.. and also the fact you can make your mind work in order to attend trance.. but the effect is missing in most of the new music that is being created.. stuff is good and i appreciate it .. but i wonder if any electronic full on dance music should be called any xyztrance or should it be just called EDM(Electronic Dance Music) ?

Ok let me elaborate my point by giving some example..mind this is not the thread of criticism but about how true music stays to the terminology being used to describe it and vice versa.
again i would take example of one of most rocking full on famous track party pooper .. would you call it Psychedelic Trance ? it is ofcourse superbly made dance floor killer.. but it never put me into trance..then why would one call it xyztrance ?
and i dont mean at all that dance music cannot be called trance.. it can .. dance is also a part of trance.. but this dance happens in the state of trance and not just excitement or external influence or simply
illusion which may not be true 
where are those trippy patterns.. where are those spiritual sounds.. where is the music which is as psychedelic as the fractal designs that you often relate to trance.. where are the tracks which sound different every other time you listen to them.. where are the powerful tracks.. where is the psychedelic MUSIC which takes u into TRANCE?
.... am afraid..quantity without quality may erase the speciality of our beautiful scene. |

Difficult to speak at a general level, given the profoundly subjective experience of the trance state.
ASAIAC, I'd tend to agree with you manu. I can't find the tiniest bit of psychedelia in most Full-on tracks I know, just quality dance music at best.
A relevant question is : what do people want to find in their daily / weekly psytrance musical dose ? Freak out to the max, a brain massage ? Did the needs change over time ?

Hey manu, i think a little bit different in these points.
There are many ways to get into trance. Not only dancing, there are people who meditate or stand some days on the same position and do repeatly the same movements without music for example.
Everybody should learn the ways that are good for him/her to get tranced.
For me is music like Astral Projection or Infected m.
very good made music, but it is not the music for getting into trance.
On parties this music is for me boring and so i can't get into trance. Of course it depends of you.
Last year i was on a party were GoaGil djed, this was one of the most trancy parties (without drugs) for me. It was more than 15 hours hard fast twisted power trance music.
And this is trance music for me.
On the other side it is very unimportant how we call the different styles, it is just to have an word that you can use if you talk about xyztrance you know.
I love the way trance has evolved at the moment, PartyPooper is not good example, i mean the really twisted and fast stuff, like The Nommos and Parasense and there are a lot more of this powerfull music.
Don't be afraid we will always a beatiful scene if everybody take care for each other and respects the different styles and the different ways of trance.
Trance as unconcious state of mind is the goal of all human beings, psytrance scene or anyone else.

for me state of trance more importent on hypnotic level than on psy/mental level. i dont find full on as a music that make me go into trance, just becoze its too fast and noisy. also i find alot music that come from not so called psy sources and tottaly hypnotic me and made me move in trance, dance without thinking.

As i said there are exceptional artists who have stood true to so called trance effect.. EYB as you said what music Goa Gil plays is ofcourse what i meant is TRANCE for me too.... music that alters your state of mind and your position unknowingly.. unknowingly as in you dont even realise where you have reached....
I heard Nommos & Goa Gils new album ..which affected me so much .. that next day i blindly opened a topic saying Goa Gill is God ! not surprisingly there were no replies for that topic..which means new generation dont understand it or may be find it too hardcore or simply they r in a dancing mood to cheesy stuff ?

you are right.. infact ive tried yoga and have experienced the feeling of energy even after an half hour of meditation.. but here since we are discusing about the music as a medium to take you into trance .. i had a question mark .. do we nowadays get music as powerful as meditation or yoga is ?

repetitive beat+delay of concience. 
People in trance are vulnerable of:
energetic fantasy  +magnetic perception. 
Sound change as your concience changes.  
trance is always possible where there is a:
