i think id rather get a cheap midi controller and waldorf blofeld,.. xiosynth has the engine of a novation ks and blofeld the Q engine.. so i guess is a matter of choice, and of course xiosynth is also a audio mid interface , so.. if u already got one then maybe u dont need that.

Xiosynth is a kinda audio/midi controller/synth all built into one unit and at a good price we cant resist...
Novation is famous for its synths , and is used by many artists.Xiosynth can load V-station and K-station presets too, And has X-gator function that makes it great for Trance.
But it has a limitation that if you want to edit the presets u need to go down menus and do that.

yes the all in one factor can be very useful, if dont have much space or when travelling but most of the times they arent as good as the standalone synths or souncards, maybe the controller i the best thing of the xiosynth.

well i have x-station and i can say that its sound quality is quite good but now AWESOME or mind blowing.
however the keyboard is _very_ good as midi controller it acts perfect.
i think xiosynth is a bit the same.

Cheers guys! I wil probably be getting one. I use to have a K-Station a few years back & loved it but sadly had to sell it. But now i want something decent as a midi controller as well. |

Yes, go for it, it is a nice synth - it is a x-station with some new features and a design for live situations.
I use it for my livesets, together with a notebook it is a very fine solution
