Novation Automap issues

I have read through several different manuals, several times. Watched the tutorial DVD 3-4 times and looked on the Novation website, scanned through google and you tube, and I can't find any answers >_<

I am using Cubase SX3 with Novation ReMote 25 SL

I can't seem to get it to map to any of my VSTs. I had it mapped for Vanguard for a while, it worked. I closed my session, came back to it the next day, and no automapping. Nothing was assigned. I tried to do the "learn" on the automap client, but it wouldn't pick up any movements. If I change a parameter, lets say Attack in Vanguard, it shows that it's assigned on the Automap client, but it doesn't seem to pick up any movement from the keyboard.

Secondly, it won't map to Albino at all. I have had to do it the standard way through Albino "ECS > Learn". Which is cool, but it only lets me assign something once, and as I understand it you should be able to assign 3 different things to each knob or fader etc, but it will only assign one thing per pot or whatever, and doesn't remember it after closing the session.

Finallay, it doesn't have any mappings for Renegade, Alien or Vampiremorphdious, I can't figure out how to assign pots and faders to parameters in the synths.

Certain pots or faders will be assigned to something, but it will be like (in Alien):

Pot 1: delay amount

pot 2: volume

pot 3: chorus depth

pot 4: attack and env amount

and so on

The sequencer stuff seems to be working, well the transport controls, and I have had Vanguard mapped to it, so it does work, but only the once.

I just can't seem to reconfigure it at all and it's really annoying.

Any ideas anyone... Please

If you've ran through a bunch of trial and errors, maybe try uninstall/reinstall?

I haven't had problems with my nocturn in ableton so that's about all i can offer.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Sounds to me like the port for automap might not be assigned, or working correctly maybe? Or perhaps it's changing when you select different things?

Maybe try emailing novation?

I have done everything that the DVD and manuals have said in reguard to port set-up. I think an e-mail to Novation may end up being done.           "We were making castles in the sand: Now we swim in the seas that swept them away"

Is a compatibility issue with Cubase 3 possible?

I use Automap but have never tried it with Cubase 3, so I can't say for sure.

Have you tried setting up a template, then clicking "save as default control map for client"?
