What do you what:
Lots of bad quality sounds or less sounds but way better quality?

Trust me. The Nord is way better sounding plus you already have a Virus b. The Nova cant do anything that the Virus cant do but the nord has got that nice character. The Nord's bass will blow both your Virus and the Nova out of the water.

I have a Virus b myself and when i listen to nordlead demos or play it myself at Aage Jensen (hehe) I really wish I had one. I DONT get this felling playing with the Nova. The Nordlead bass is one of the things I wich my virus could do but it just can't. The virus totally suck for those fast psy basses. No wonder so many psy artists use the Nordlead 2 for bass (and alot of other sounds).

I remember that Erez from Infected once said: "All you need to make psytrance is a good soundcard, cubase and a Nordlead."

I totally agree (apart from the cubase part ).

Indeed!
Well, my advice is: Try to get a Micro modular, and a K-Station, then you´ll have nord power, and nova stuff.

nord 2 definately. nova u can just dload v-station and have a k station virtually...identically the same shit, no?

don't get a micromodular whatever u do! it was cool a few years ago, but the problem with that shits is that it gets obsolete. it doesn't work well on many midi converters, and you may have problems running it because it was meant to be used with 98 and earlier oses...

it *was* a coool synth, but that's the problem with the nord modulars, they truely become obsolete, unelsss u wanna buy a shitty comp n use it for a host for the editing softwaer.

in my opinion novation really is replacing ALL their hardware synths with software ones. and just going with all soundcard+midi contorller stuff + releasing some software. Don't expect those hardware novations to be so useful. And if u get waht the novation audi ostation u get the k station, so why even buy it?:p unless it's like $20:)

Can´t make your Micromodular Work on XP...jejeje just right click on micromodular editor icon, select "properties" "compatibility" --> "compatibility for win 98" voila.

it's not so easy, many people have huge problems with setting it up on their computers.

also there's huge compatibility issues with many midi converters. older ones they might work fine, but i hear more and more there is problems.

also the nord modular g1 kb is onyl what like $200 more than the micromodular and a whole lot more power + knobs:-)

i just don't like the old modular...it sounded like shit imho, and i didn't like having to have an extra set of midi out/in dedicated to it...

one thing cool bout the old modular the new one lacks, wavetable oscs:< i wish the new one had this !!!!!

The nord is far better at fat dirty FM sounds (which is what I like in psy, I had one for years) but you can now get a fairly faithful reproduction of the nord 2 as a plug in now!!

Disco discovery DSP - nord rack 2 edition

also the V-station plug in is the Nova,

So if you still want to go buy (consider virus c - its killer!) at least you can try them both as softwares first!

hope this helps you...

Arghhh now im confused ,
is the virus c a great improvment from B , ( is it worth paying these money for this improvement )
Should i Invest in disco discovert nord rack 2 edittion instead of in a nord rack 2 ?
