yes it will work , you will just have to power your m-box via an extern power supply, cause only 6 pin firewire support buspower..
but its better anyway to power extern cause firewire can cause trouble with buspower and you might get noise in in the audio channels..
the laptop looks swet man !!

I know that, but sometimes the 4 pin firewire for some reason is inferior, I think it has to do with how it is connected to the motherboard.
I have heard about laptop and 4 pin firewire isssues before, that is why I was asking. Thank you neverttheless Mark.

I'd recommend to stay away from 4pin connection straight into the laptop, since I was having loads of disconnection issues with my m-audio audiophile. Yet when I got a 4-6pin adapter, a much stirdier connection, everything works perfectly now. Headaches went away
