System restore restores system files. It wouldn't touch Fruity.
No auto backups? Scandisk sometimes fixes bad sectors and recovers file fragments, give that a try. |

listen ill give u some tips on how to maybe solve this
1st open fl and change the vst plugin folder to something without plugs in it!
than try to reopen the project... if it loads than u must find what plug is causing the error by removing one by one the plugz in ur vst plugins folder!
its a painful and long process but if it loads without plugs than u know at least its a plug problem!

This is no fun and a hard way to learn a valuable lesson but a lesson it is! Even though all the DAWs I use make auto-save copies, I make a point every so often to save the project under a new name. So any project folder has TrackName-001 to TrackName-175 or whatever by the time I finish a track.
Usualy I will use a new name each time I start working on a project (so every day) and then as soon as I have added something usefull (a new lead, a new section, a new drum sequence or whatever). That happens maybe every 15 minutes or so. Sometimes less.
Even when working in ProTools (which auto-saves every 3 minutes to a new file) I'll save to a different project name when some significant work has been done.
Such is the reality of working with computers...

PS: I think he means 3 minutes of music, not 3 minutes of work! |

SAVE AS
atleast in 4-5 diffrent stages.
if you are fruity registered user u can ask them to help , but they also can only fix some of the files only.
fuck this corrupted filez , defintly lost 3-4 great tracks because of it.
system restore sometime do help btw. just make sure you backup newr works!

happend to me several times too.
on FL forum they say :: only help is save as new version.
i used to have over 50 stages
this usualy happens when something wrong happend when you saved, like system crash while writting the file.
many users asked FL team to recover a project, usualy it didn't end positively |

On the fl forum (looptalk) there is a analysis prog, that u can download for free and test ur system and also repair the broken .flp file (works not with every file).
Had this prob with early versions of fls too, but it is gone since some updates, so best is to get the last version from the fl site.
Hope u get it working again, things like this are frustating.

Use ableton. If you have a crash, next time you start up ableton reconstructs your track from its history, even if you didnt even save it once! |

Never forget to save. I learned this lesson myself.
Even so - last week I was working on a track. 2-3 hours of work and then Cubase crashed. So I was thinking "ok, i'll load the saved version - it was around 10 minutes ago?". So I did. And It was a version 3 hours old. I didn't save. Damn.
Fortunately, I remembered what I did so I managed to recreate everything (and even better) in about 30 minutes
