...but seriously, anyone feel like taking a crack at Artax - "I Like Being Wierd" (full-on or the slower remix)?
http://www.myspace.com/artaxsweden
the lead with the intense human vowel formants is the one i'm talking about... and it's about as psychedelic as they come.
it could be done with a vocoder synth, with the modulation source coming from a sampler loaded with a slough of human vowel .wavs, but this seems unlikely if not genius...
any takers for a more elegant solution to formant modulation of this kind? 'cuz it sounds killer! |

I think you can get a close sound with
delay lama + a band pass filter + dfx Buffer Override or dbglitch or SugarBytes Effectrix!
I think that Tone2 Gladiator also have formant patches...
edit - I'm listening to "Other Things mix2k8", it's clearly the Delay lama vst!

Great Vst Delay lama, its been around quite long!
A while(years) a go people thought it was overused... but i think its a nice thing! In some tracks it can fit very well. automate the parameters and have some nice fun
Artax makes some real nice music! i like the computer generated speech! Robot music..

Hey having trouble running delay lama, (im on a mac) i download it, it has an install icon, i click it, it installs, there is no folder (on the website it asks you to place delay lama vst into plugin/vst folder), but delay lama vst is in my plugin folder, when i open logic it's not there as an option to use.
On a mac, running leopard 10.5.8, logic pro 9. Any advice, it sounds/looks amazing, really want to get it working |
