thanx for reply, yes psytwin , i am working on the final 3d project for a norwegian artist and i am useing some of the flicks i used in the 4mb test, im 60% done on a 8.49min song... but i got a question, what is the best compresion "quality vs size" now im using indeo5.0 but 5min gets around to 800mb so i cant use that for final render, when i go for divx it get all chippi and krunchy looking, can any one give me som pointeres to compresion codecs and settings for 3d Work

video is huge, 100mb per minute for broadcast quality is normal... anything you do to make the file smaller will be noticable as imagequality-loss...
Video (DV) - editing requires massive disks of over 100gb for a short movie so...

Well "glennwiz", the real question is: what for the final 3D rendering works will be use?!
If is for projecting performance! Size of 800x600 is fine! And your codec also!
The size you get now is normal! I don’t usually rendering long movie because I only use shurt loops of few seconds! Some times I do make a render on 2 min movie and my final files are in the same proportion of yours! (Like 230 Mo for 2 min)!
Well actually a bit smaller! But that because I guess you setup your frames time on 25 on 30 fps!!. If you do So, I advise you to cut it in half! Human eyes can see an animation with out the break frames above 12 fps, so if you put 15 like I do is fine! All my movies are setup like this and believe me on big screen or TV! They are no difference! Then your movie size will be cut in half too.
So now if you want the high quality (to make a DVD for example), well AVI format will not be good enough! You should go for MPEG-2 which is the actual DVD format! then we not talking about frames (fps) but Mb (Mbps) and the MPEG-2 format can go to 3,5 to 6 Mbps with almost no perceptible difference from the Digital Studio Master Tapes (original tapes they use to copy and make all the DVD film you can find and the market). Of course the movie size will be very very high ! like 4 , 5 Gb for 1H20 min and sure you will need a DVD disk save it out your Hard drive.
I am not an expert in mastering and editing video but I think it will be very difficult to get this quality with a regular computer and 3D software with out a Digital Video Studio to handle this kind of codec and allow you to render directly in this Quality!
