Too bad about the cost. 120 minutes is a small amount of airtime and I'm not about to pay for merely doubling that limit.

You have unlimited number of tracks you can send/recieve though...Get on, create fake accounts, load the accounts with your tunes and send youself a bunch of your music....
Hope no one from soundcloud sees this...lol..
Take THAT system!

Actually I believe it's 120min PER FILE. This means you can post a 2 audio file, but I'm pretty sure you can post as many 2 hour audio files as you want.
In addition, most producers I see might have a DJ mix posted, but it's mostly used for original tracks. That said, even if you can only have 120min on the account, that should be more than adequate for tracks that range 5-10 min each. At least soundcloud doesn't make you degrade the audio quality of your files like myspace.
Soundcloud might take over for music and artist searches. I wouldn't say that myspace is in direct competition though. Myspace can be used more for event promotion, and other things that you just wouldn't see on soundcloud (unless they did some major overhaul to the site - which might actually ruin why we like it so much). I would say that soundcloud is closest to last.fm, except that the artists are controlling their own profiles. In any case, because of this beautiful thing we call the worldwide web, we don't have to pick just one.

No, it's 120 minutes total. I think some older accounts have more privileges though.
I'll put it this way--I posted one sample track from most of the releases on my psytrance label and I'm nearly out of minutes. SoundCloud is stingy.

Yeah I mean as a 'label' it's a different story. I would think as a label though you would have your own website to display full samples of all the albums.
As an individual artist, I think 120min is more than generous; especially considering that it's free.
