Greetings travellers,
Every year I gather together dates, links, and locations of the various psytrance (or psytrance-related) festivals taking place in North America. This year I'm starting early, largely because of the noticeable increase in spring festivals this year. A good sign, isn't it? Anyhow, if you're seeking a quick and dirty rundown of what your options are this festival season, look no further:

I will be keeping this post updated all summer long. If you have any tips to pass on (or wish to correct any mistakes that may arise) please feel free to use the contact form on my site to reach me directly.

Pretty awesome!
Now what I am looking for is a list of free, alternative and enviromental gatherings on this continent.
Kinda feelin like it would be appropriate considering the current global conditions. where are the free tek crews? There must be some free nature parties somewhere around here.
anybody?

Goa Gil? I suppose that makes it a "multi-day gathering." I'll look that one up and add it.
Mez: I am not sure how active the freetekno movement is these days... at any rate, the local crews are not very psytrance-oriented. |

is there any freetekno going on in the continent? i'd be interested to check it out...
I'm down for the movement's outward ethos, but the conglomerated PA "design" and dirty hard techno / hardcore records don't sound super fun to me

Excellent job! Admire the initiative.
One thing, 'Stimuli' should be corrected to 'Stimula'.
And shouldn't this list be called "Canada and USA Festival Guide"? There are forty other countries and territories in North America. I don't believe nothing is lined up in Mexico for this year's festival season. Just a thought.

According to the world atlas ...
North America, the planet's 3rd largest continent, includes (23) countries and dozens of small island possessions and territories - mostly in the Caribbean. It contains all Caribbean and Central America countries, Canada, Mexico and the United States of America - three of the largest countries on the planet, as well as Greenland - the world's largest island. |

That's a valid observation. Of course, I've given it some thought... and yes, in a geographic sense "North America" refers to the whole continent. In a social context, Mexico and everything south is often considered "Latin" or "Central" America depending on whether South America is included or not. Some refer to Canada and the United States as "Anglo-America" but guess what les Quebecois would think of that! So I just went with North America... yeah, it's imprecise, but people generally have a good idea of what it refers to, and it isn't as awkward as saying "Canadian and American..."
