do you have an example?

Mastering is simply fixing what was wrong in the mix and if the mix is perfect theres no need for extra step.. But example.. Well thats hard to find :-D           http://www.myspace.com/djacidkills

you must have a link to an audio example of a mix which dosn't need mastering, or are you just making this up?

of a track that is perfect mixed and where is no need to master?no but i had mastering at school and thats what every professional mastering engineer says..

Unfortunately these days mastering also means making things loud and crushed so a perfect mix, which by definition isn't crushed, won't be the same as the mastered track.

Maybe people will come to their senses and we will see a decline in the general loudness of released music...

Depends on a genre.. And no Im not making this up.. Its said by the pro mastering authorities and I agree with it.. Its theory, but in practice its hard to find.. Engineer's work is to fix the faults to make a record perfect and if there are no faults than theres no need for fixing.. But people make mistakes and mistakes happen even in the post -production..           http://www.myspace.com/djacidkills

Im just saying that this guy is doing it for more than 20 years and knows about it more than u and me both and if he said it than that is how it is.. Im not a mastering engineer so I dont receive mixes so how can we tell which track is perfectly mixed when we hear only mastered tracks.. Track that was released and mastering engineer didnt do nothing on it is perfectly mixed.. So u should ask Friedemann or any other engineer or label, maybe they have some perfectly mixed tracks for referance..

And his working methods are stunning, almost perfect           http://www.myspace.com/djacidkills

Yeah, it takes so much dynamics away when you compress the hell out of a mix...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:
