Nord sysex dump: i need some help pls

hi all. i have tried searching for this topic but i find nothing. my question is how do u load new sounds on a nord? its not the same as a access virus, usually (with a virus) u just import the midi file in a midi track, play the track from the beginning and boom thats it? i have refered to my nord manual but like always its hard to grasp it from there. pls some help guys. im sure this isnt too difficult, probably just missing something. thanks alot |

Hi, you can certainly send and backup your patches via a midisequencer.
I think using Emagic Sounddiver or SQuest Midiquest might make things easier.

i`m too lazy to use the search but i postesd a similar thread a while back...
anyway its preety easy... you did everything right all you need to do is search the manual again and look up " sysex bulk " load\save.
if i remember correctly all you need to do is press play on the sequencer and than press shift + something on the nord to load sysex bulk .
of course you need to connect the midi in .
(but thats obviuos isnt it?)
hope this helps. it is right there in the manual anyway. somewhere

Hold up,
How do you load the deedrah patches into the NL?
I've never done anything like this before and the manual isn't making any sense to me at the moment. Anybody care to walk me through this? I'd appreciate it tons!!  |

i wish i could write a step by step how to do this. but i`m away from my beloved nord so i`ll try explaining it using my fucked up pothead memory....
you import the deedrah file as a midi file into a project.
make sure your sequencer is transmiting sysex commnads and that you nord is connected (daaauuhh) . than you press play and press the sysex upload keys on the nord ( as explianed in the anual) . or maybe its the nord first and than the play from the sequencer but thats the general spirit of things i think.
hope this makes sense.
if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

well, i still cant get it to work the only problem is: how do i import the sysex file into cubase? u cant import like a midi, file menu;etc... anyone know? |

why can't u?
if not like a midi, then how else?
u import sysex like a midi file, another thing is that there're sometimes bugs when using sysex files in cubase. with some synths it worked well when i imported it, with some it didn't.
can't tell u anything about NL-1, haven't tried it. |
