Nord rack 2 Questions

Well finally got my used nord rack 2. I have one problem , in instruction book it says that if i want stereo mode i use out A and B
When i use these i still get only one channel output .the sound is in mono and the led peak meter on both mixer and sound card shows only 1 channel ...
What can this be , hopefully someone has an easy answer to this ,
And another quick question , is it possible to dump sounds/banks to the rack without the pcmcia card ?

Hi Rishi, congratulations on your new buy, you'll have lots of fun with it 
1st Q
You have 4 outputs for the nord, wich means u can get 4 mono or 2 stereo outs (A,B,C,D)
On the nord, when u press Shift-Out Mode you get how your nord is outputting the sound. (on the left side of the nord is all writen about what each out does)
I normally use 1ab or 2ab depending on the sounds, and 3ab sometimes (each notes dif side)
Also on your sequencer you must choose stereo and input 1-2 (if for eg the nord out A and B are plugged to your 1-2 input in the soundcard). Dunno wich sequencer u are using, but at least in logic it comes with audio files in mono as default, wich u must change, and then choose the inputs
2nd Q
Yes. You just need the midi file for the soundbank, open it in a sequencer, put in the midi track outputting to sinth and play. (at least i tried this with deedra soundbank and it worked - http://www.deedrah.com)

Man Thanx for the fast reply , i found out the outputs , and i have stereo THANX x 10
for the second question , i dont fully understand , i come so far that i can dump 40 places of the soundbank , and when i run over this midi i just dumped i can see tht the nord is "filling" up again . But when i import i.e the deedrah soundbank .. i dont know what to do cuz the rack doesnt react filling up with the new bank .

go to open list editor in midi menu in cubase and you will notice a bunch of empty boxes - tick the system exclusive one..
then try again

Ive connected in and out with midi cables , and set the proper channels ,and i can see output when playing the I.e Deedrah midi , but the nord rack will simply not be "fed". And entering the list editor i can see the notes ... very strange .. do i have to turn something on somewhere ?

hummm....
weird....thats what i did, just put play in the sequencer (logic) in my midi out track for the nord, pressed play and all the presets where saved to my nord... |

hey babba .. maybe u need to unlock your nord ... do this .. press the button SHIFT + PROG control ... and then at the left side of the nord lead .. u see a manual write on the machine .. with instructions .. search the prog control instructions .. and change it .. for i can change the presets or bank ..

Hi All , and thanx with ur patience ,and great answers this is starting to irritate me a bit .
Dark Psy , i suppose i put Control , and Program at ON , didnt quite understand that with the manual write .
I managed to download some piece of software called MIDI -OX , and i manage to load a sysex file i.e the deedrah file , and i manage to dump my bank from the nord rack , and i can see that it registres it all , but when it comes to the sounds , they are still the same

maybe u save them in a different bank .. have u allready cheked ??? .....
or do this .. make a save from your presets ... erase the preset .. 1 to 40 .. and then .. try to upload the deedrah presets into your nord lead ...
ohh more one advice .. did u chek if the preset from deedrah .. are presets from nord lead 2 ... because if its from nord lead 1 .. or nord lead 3 .. forget it

I finally made it work
Could i ask if there are any other soundbanks to be found , the ones at clavia all need the pcmcia card , and i found the random patch generator ... ?

Hi , love to tweak my synths , finding new sounds , but its always nice to have something to go after , Thanx tsabeat , i will replace the sounds in my current bank with ANYTHING ,cuz the current REALLY really suck
