Modular is awsome, but alittle hard to program on if you dont have the some synthesizer knowledge.
Nord Lead2x and 3 are great synthesizers but not a flexible as the modular (doh)...

if you have time to learn it go for the modular.
it can make sounds that cant be made with other digital synths and vst's, not even reactor or creamware modular.
but like psypox sais, it has a steep learning curve.
it will keep you off the streets for years tho!

i think nord rack 2 (less$) would be a good choice, it's good for any type of electronic music, and its very intuitive and sounds awesome, so you'll be able to get results fast, my only problem with it is the 4 parts multitimbral thingy .

go for the nord lead 3!!! or nord modular!
but why everyone wants clavia products?? ok off course the synths are super top but almost everyone uses them! think about getting some experience with other brands like waldorf korg...... there are to many (if u already experiencd enough _ok-- then get the nord lead if it is ur favorite_____u will have fun for sure

If you've got the money, the Nord Lead 3 is the way to go. Many advantages... Any sound you can make on a NL1 or NL2 can be made on a 3, but some sounds made on a NL3 cannot be replicated on the 1 or 2.
For live set-ups the 360 degree illuminated knobs are killer - this is how all synthesisers should be... |

hi cosmomochan , man are you sure you want to spend all that money , you should think synth is the last thing to buy , i mean some thing are more important like a good compute and good monitors , even some top artists dont use there synth anymore or just for midi controllers... so think twice before spending lot of money |

You can use any keyboard with Midi In/out as a midi controller. |
