being able to change fx type by cv would rock like fuck

yeah and modulate about everyhting.. delay time,reverb time.. that would be dope;

make noise reverb + echophon ....might be good fun

but tbh, a cv to midi then jack an fx unit in would get you the same result

would prefer to save for some modules and have the pleasure of building a complex synthesizer organism to taste, but that panel (s1 mk2) does look complete and appealing.

it can sound great too ,it s very precise sound not everyone taste.. it can sound close to somd old roland too similar.. my Xs too..when listening sh5 demo the other day i thought it was my Xs,i exagerate a bit but it can sound very similar... both share 12 db agressive filter.. probably for that..sh5 seems a bit warmer though and higher quality sound..

@pom you mean the future retro xs, right? you already have a cv/gate to midi converter. how good does it perform? and, what would you guys recommend in that department?

yes midi cv gate, but i think it may be better to go with expert sleepers es3 in eurorack to not deal with midi and use their soft silent way .

Xs i like it even if it as first i was not totaly convinced,but it offer lot of flexibilty for programing,now i love it more every time i use it. it can do everyhting ,great bassline, fx,percussion leads.. it s very flexible with all the modulation and gain staging inside the path

if u wanna hear it,i just recorded this but fucked the bounce wihtout saving session.. i recorded just the left ,it was just to teste some fx so it s very wet..but only one chanel ,suck there was very wide stereoe with good mono translation

if you got a DC coupled sound card you can run cv straight out the back , dont need a converter just special cables that dont cost much

I have both virus ti and nordrack 2x, Nordrack 2x has a lot of warm pure clean sounds

I wonder if I was to sell all my synths (ok keep the x0xb0x and Moogerfooger) and return to the early days of just "one modular synth" to make music...how would things be...

Would be different! You'd be spending a lot of money and your room would look like a airplane's cockpit.

I think such things as the Virus or Nord enables one to get sounds going fast, thus I feel is more practical for most musicians. I'm also developing a gas for modular. But I think it's more to do with my interest in sound design in abstract ways, then thinking it's the way to go for making music. Timing issues, cv to midi converters, so forth and so on... Or having to correct timing by hand...

I was so used to editing audio chunks and moving transients to the beginning of the region, the triggering was also random, not the same amount over the whole sequence...some where early, some where late....but that was my old PC (I even had an eMagic AMT8 back then, but still had timing issues)...it was the same for all my hardware synths, whereas my Mac now is solid...Then there where the tuning issues, until I got the A-190 that has the brilliant DC offset to keep perfect track across the keyboard.
