Nord Lead 2X, Virus, or should I get a hardware synth at all?

@POM yeah, I use logic's ultrabeat for the same to. I even put some processed drum sounds there, sometimes, after I render them down to save cpu and stuff like that.
used to use ES1 for bass, for quite a long time, not anymore. I bet you sample those analogue goodies to make some juicy basses - that's what I'd do with such gear eheh.

never really exploited ultrabeat that way,just a little at the begining when i got logic 9.. it s probably fun..do you use the seqeuncer inside? i think it s possible to drag/drop to midi track after ?
importing sample and use UB synthesis on top can only be cool for more unic drums sound..probably great |

Nord is more aggressive, raw AND more organic than the Virus.
Virus is like synthetic leather as opposed to real leather.

we can have different opinions on what sounds more organic, there are certain sounds that virus can produce that nord cant and visevera, hard to describe any of this in words really and he shouldnt decide on anything we tell him but what the synths tell him. y he really should play with them or listen to lots sound examples...

yep, i tend to process my drums a lot, and use layers and everything. so after a while it gets messy. I used to render the audio down, and use multiple audio tracks for each drum instance. but lately, I've been creating my presets with my custom made sounds on it. You can drag the patterns to midi, you need to drag the button next to pattern (the grey little square).
I like the envelopes with adjustable slope inside Ultrabeat to, and the way you can easily define the range of, say, velocity to volume or anything else - that makes midi editing (with superb results) a bliss. Worth the test!  |

to the op if you want to make weird sound for style like forest trance, for the price the dark energy is the best option i think.. it will piss on nord and virus for lot of sound imo ,it acutally a bargain for a bit more than a plugin secondhand. you can make good drums, including psy kick..bass... fxs it s very good.. and leads too
find these samples that is not too crapy, nothing to do with dark or forest trance though just osc like this virus and nord can only dream of it, lets not talk about audio rate modulation that are the most fun for twisted trance

just that with a proco rat and analog chorus/flanger pedal,and phazer.. for something like 350/500 euros you already have a better tone than 75% of psytrance out there..about taste though.. |
