I would go the 3 personally, but if you are on a tight budget you will be more than happy with the 2 - if it is the nord sound that you are after.

Surely there is a music supplier somewhere near you that stocks nord? you really should go have a listen...

Hi,

I have exactly the same questions. Here in Brazil, Nord Lead 2X costs $2000 and Nord Lead 3 costs $3000.

Is there anything really good in the NL3 that justify that price diference?

In the topic "10 pieces of Gear..u choose" (http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/72677/forum/2), a person choose simulaneously NL2 and NL3. Why? Is not supposed that the NL3 can reproduce all the sounds of NL2 and NL2X?

What about Nord Modular G2? In the same topic another person choose NL2 and NMG2. I know Modular G2 is totally a new conception, but there is any good justification to choose simultaneously NL2 and NMG2? NMG2 cannot reproduce all the sounds of NL2, NL2X and NL3?

I'm totally lost! I'm going to buy a Nord Lead 3, but if a person ask me "why are you buying NL3 and not NL2X", the only response I can give is: "I'm stupid and really don't know!" Hahaha..

Thanks!

Alex

Basically, the difference about Nord Lead 2 and 3 is the FM synth of the NL3 AND the knobs with Leds (the HUGE difference)           Abraços/Regards,

you should be aware that clavia changed their algorithms from the nord lead 2 to 3(same with the nord modular 1 to the g2). Thats the biggest difference.
The 3 and g2 have a softer less harsh sound, possibly more versatile sound but they defianetly lack the classic evil nord sound.

Hi Fubalone,
This prices is the best I have found for now. It's from "Ginga" (Teodoro Sampaio street, Sao Paulo). They sell a new NL2X for 10 x R$ 507,00 and NL3 for 10 x R$ 769,00. But I'm searching for more best prices. Contact me if you want more details about this and others options I have found (psy4fun@gmail.com).

Hi luizmenezesjr,
NL2/NL2X doesn't have endless knobs or something similar? When patches are changed, there's no visual feedback of parameter changes?

Thanks,

Alex

good question..
i was thinking the same when i had to buy my nord lead aswell..

after trying both of them..
i came to the conclution that if i turn a knob all the way up..
or all the way down..
i pretty much know whats gonna happen in a live situation.. however .. with endless dials this is a bit more tricky..

and ..
the Rawness of NL2X is very unique to me and thats why i picked the 2X!
slap some hardware effect module on there and its a MONSTOR!!

good luck bro.. and remember.. this is for sure a matter of taste aswell..
