Nord Lead 2 vs Discovery

Hi!
How are these two synths compared to each other? I mean, since the Discovery is a kind of Nord Lead 2 emulation. And if I load sysex from a Nord into the discovery (since it can do this), will it sound anything like the original program? If not, what`s the differences? I also noticed that there is no unison button on the Discovery...

your question is like...v-station vs kstation...fm7 vs dx7...pro53 vs prophet etc...
its alway a matter of taste and how good sound card you have.
better sound card vst will sound much closer to original
and not to forget how good is the oscilator and filter antialiasing and programming!
i found wavestation plug sounding better than the original hardware but nord lead original sounding better than discovery at least in my ears

i agree. with vst's the soundcard doesnt matter.
the digital file will look exactly the same on a shitty card and a great card. You will hear differences temporarily but the files will be identical. |

yes you both have right in the inside its all tha same but what comes out makes the difference if compare the sound of any vsti in a 50euro audio card and then in a 500euro card you can hear the difference and especialy when using a synth in stanalone mode for a live you really nead a good card to make it sound ok!

that one's simple... synth1 loses it is a lot older then discovery too.. And freeware... if synth1 is better, then there is something seriously wrong in the world... |

wavelogix: what i mean to say is that discovery SHOULD sound better, cuz u have to pay for it, if it sounds worse then the synth1, then i wouldn't understand how they dare ask money for it... and yes, synth1 has a shitload of good sounds, especially if u want metallic sounds i love it too |
