Just set all knobs to zero, and set all oscilators to first waveform.

there is no magic button for it on the nord.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

i beg to differ! there is an init function on the nord.
clavia just decided to call it something completely different but since it´s function differs a bit from the normal init patch thing i guess it´s only fair that they changed it a bit.
here´s how to do it:while holding down the shift key press the manual(performance) button.
this leaves the synth with the sound that the knobs and buttons indicate. i suggest that you move all knobs to 12 o´clock position then entering manual mode and work your way from there.
it´s presently the only way to "init" a program on the nord.
also note that in manual mode the instrument can only play one sound, layering is not possible.
all this info can be found in the manual btw. but they didn´t exactly make it easy by calling it something else.           Mastering available here:

I read about this shit in the manual - I don't think u can save an init sound this way.

actually you can save an init sound.
Just go to manual mode like monno said and tweak the patch the way you like it. Then you have to copy that patch onto an existing patch... and i don't remember how to do that.. i'll check when i get home tonight...

I think that all sounds are init!
you can turn every sound to another by twistin the knobs.
