There is a good nord emulation in the discovery 2 plugin , and the virus plugin is a buy for the powercore dsp card , other "virus"vsti can come abit close to some of the virus sounds . i.e vanguard , z3ta+ ..

albino can come pretty close to virus when it comes to modulation possibilities and filters, but it lacks character a bit somehow....
synth 1 can be good alternative to discovery/nl.
vanguard sounds nice and fat, but it`s quite limited. |

DiscoDSP Discovery is modelled on Nord Lead, but it doesn't sound exactly the same. There is no VSTi version or emulation of Virus. If Access themselves released a VSTi version, it would be warezed awfully and so they are unlikely to release it. |

Virus powercore is indeed very close to the original, but it costs quite a bit for the DSP card and the plugin. Thought it was worth it though.

There is a new rompler called NorthMood, but it is taken from the nord modular...
no idea if its any good, but the idea of turning a modular synth into a rompler seems pretty much like sacrelidge to me!!!! |
