I own a NL2 for about 3 years now. (not the 2x though but apart from 24bit and larger preset bank i think it the same)
What can I say? I love it! Its my baby, and I never want to see it go 
Its a very intuitive synth, after you learn the basics its quite easy to get to the sounds you want, and its true, its one of the main synths used in psy trance, I hear it all the time
Apart from that, I own the rack, not the keyboard, and I can assure you this baby is strong, stronger than most synths I come across. Knobs are hard and tight, and 3 years after I bought it its just as new, apart from little fade out in the colours around the most used knobs.
For this same reason, what I would recomend you actually, is maybe to consider a 2nd hand...I´ve seen nord racks 2 selling for 300/400 euros, wich really is a bargain, and most chances is its gonna be in great condition, and you´re still left with $ to buy more toys! (a 2nd hand jp8000 or a virus B for eg)...that would definetelly be my move...
