I have done alot of Dj:ing but never even touched something that can be used for music creation. Someone can make a short (or long) introduction in what kind of equipment you need for progressive nad minimal music? |

Fruity Loops, for begining, create loops and tracks with relevant ease.
move on to reason - Better Gui, and a tad tougher to get along with, but you'll dish out some killing tunes if you persist
cubase - once you mastered those two, i would recommend this one. a much better soundrange, used world over by a lot of producers, musicians and even live acts (IM)

I think you should by a nice PC(PIV) or Mac (G4)
A normal sound card (Delta or Terratec - or other with nice quality but cheap price)
And about programs you should try Frutyloops and after yuo get used to it you ca use reason and import your own loops and sounds to there and after when you're already with some expirence then i advice you to try cubase!!
Good Luck and the most important thing is to be creative.
Boom!!! |

Ok , if you are new to create music ,
here's my advice:
Go to this page : http://www.studiocovers.com/articles.htm
Read EVERYTHING there !
After very long reading process you start to realize how important to know .
After that get the minimal equipement that Freq wrote , maybe i should add some good monitors and headphones to freq's equipement list .
My personal point of view about sequencers and computers : it's better to start in the begining of the way with one of the most professional sequencers like Cubase or Logic - don't limit yourself with Reason and Fruty only, and about computer for music making : think twice , "think different . . ."
Peace.
