Hey guys,

I*ve been studying music for a while, but I*m kind of a noob when it comes to mixing.

My first draft was too bassy so I reduced the impact of the kick, but I*m not sure if the levels are right now. What do you think about the mix in general? I know that the track needs a lot more work when it comes to breaks, percussion..

Any comment or advice would be highly appreciated.

sounding pretty decent.

you could turn up the claps a fair bit i reckon. it would help with groove, make it chunkier. same with the hats.

got bored after 2.10 - synths need some work, they get monotonous after a while.

got my interest back at 3.06 - sounding nice here. bring this in sooner i reckon.

keep at it.

nice perc and use of delays on em... +1 on you got the stuff part... break near 2.00 before it starts is not going good i think... listen to it once like its someone else's work... good choice of synths to play with.. keep flowing bro.. peace           re-arrange what you thought was real

Mix isn't sounding bad to my ear. I think every elements are well cleared in spectrum and volume.

In my opinion the kick and bass aren't sounding agressive enough maybe u could shape the transient to be a lil more harder, but thats how i would do it.

And i think if u really want to have a great practice in mixing u need to add more stuff(background, stabs) cause these sounds will be a pain in the ass to mix.

Cause as for right now all of ur sounds fit in the spectrum if u add some more and disrupt that harmony, then a real mixing job has to be done.

Nyway, sounds clear if u wish to mix better than try to have something that sounds unclear at start and making it sounds clear.           My music http://soundcloud.com/disrupted

Thx again for taking the time to listen, guys.

I*m glad the mix didn*t kill your ears

I couldn*t make up my mind about the kick. The first version sounded good to me, but still there was this critic in my mind saying "nah, kick is way too boomy"...
So I used a bit of low shelf.
Now some people say the kick is too weak

This goes to show again that apart from learning music and production, we also have to learn to trust our own perception and gut feelings
