I'm quite the amateur when it comes to producing music, so feel free to laugh at my inexperience and lack of technological know-how!

This short unfinished track is quite weird, has terrible transitions, and lacks atmosphere, but bear with it . . i'm mostly looking for technical criticism at this point.

Things I'm concerned about:
1) bass in general. . especially the timing and fluidity of the full-on. I'm using ping-pong delay on the full-on part to get the sound to meld. Is this bad?
2) some general stuff . . Is it bad to put a compressor on the master channel? reverb on the master channel?
3) i should have more questions, but don't know where to begin

Any help would be much appreciated!

if you use the reverb as a mastering instrument, put it on the master channel, but bad idea to make it a strong reverb..
as for the compressor, it's a good idea to put it in the master, AFTER you complete the mix.
too empty track, most starting producers have this problem, the track is too empty.
i dunno, i'm too sleepy now to think about it too much, but i'll leave another comment soon.

your kick and bass sounds fine. nice solid center.
The reverb is very overpowering, it almost makes the kick & bass disappear at times.
rather use reverb on separate channels where u want create space for a specific group or sound. do not use reverb on everything.

i put a compressor on the master but only use it to listen if thinks will glue. rather leave it until the track is complete for mastering.

nice build-up.

keep it rockin

Hi,
I liked your track a lot from 1:53
Bassline at the end sounds like artifakt

i would only change the claps, im not a huge fan, thts just me. Try snares, troumbines...

Abt kick and bass- I could a small tail in the kick in the start of the track. Easy to fix by simple zoom in and resizing.

Your bassline is sweet

G'luck

Hey all,

Thanks a lot for all the feedback . . . I really appreciate it!

I updated the track and pushed it in a new direction with more embellishment.
