Well it is a she, not a he... she is part of Goa Gil dark trance group but this is an ambient side poject playing mostly live African drumming with trippy sounds over the tope. Check www.saikosounds.com ... really classy cd! |

well i read about this on goagillbaba's site, but i'm pretty sure that Nimba is araine and gill baba together, not araine alone, baba has helped out a lot with the whole sound, other that the tribal drumming,but the organic sounds are baba's , the credits for the concept may go to araine alone, but baba has a big hand in the whole sound

"Nimba" is indeed Ariane MacAvoy's solo project.
She also has a project with Goa Gil called "The Nommos". Her sister Leila MacAvoy too is an artist and was the main producer/writer of the project "Made In Chapora" (M.I.C.) that had releases on Parvati and Discovalley Records.

Very special, tribal music. Much connected to the nature, and to the primeval human being.
Btw its also Ariane who plays on the acoustical instruments that you can hear in the music.
Very deep ambient. Not for easy-listening. |
