NIMBA - 'ELEMENTS'
Nimba Nimba is no other than Ariane MacAvoy - well known as half of The Nommos, together with Goa Gil.
Ariane comes from a French family of artists with a most appealing background.
Ariane presents her debut album as Nimba, which is the result of her musical education and knowledge in West African art and dance. As a master in Djembe drumming, Ariane combines her ideas and experiences from journeys to places like Senegal, Madagascar and India into a total ethno / tribal experience that presents the 'Elements'.
This original highly acclaimed release is a musical conceptual breakthrough. !!!

mmm....this is a bit of a difficult one....
Chill music is bit like like pizza (and sex)...even when its bad its still pretty good... and is applicable to this release
The long tracks are sound collages featuring animal/nature sounds and various ethnic and electronic percussion with added trancey synthetic noises...some of it pretty dark for this style!
Track3 gets a frantic groove going between the synths and drumming... if you were pretty off your face this should work amazingly well... this may require some time to get into....lovely cover art |
