So I finally got myself an Access Virus b after 4/5 years:-)
Only paid 400 Euros for it.
But does anyone have some nice soundsets to share with me?
I already took some sets from the Access website, but everything is welcome.
Thanks in advance. |

There are some really nice patches on the Cosmosis website. There were also some sound-sets posted here a while ago. You can use the search to locate them. Happy tweaking !

You could get by with just Billy's Cosmosis set and the Cosmic Dreamer sets.
Basically download Cosm*.*

another a bit harder way is to delete all patches on your virus and when not writing songs, program patches. try out everything that comes into your mind (it's useful to re-read the manual several times (not in series, but over a longer period of time) for this).
and now program your whole virus soundbanks full of own sounds!
after that you know what you have, you like what you have. and you have become more goal-oriented when making patches. you will know to some extent how it sounds before tweaking the knobs..
good luck! |

on most banks you have only comercial patchs,it s ok if you are into morning trance but if you are looking for some crazy detuned scarie sounds, you have to program them by yourself. |

this is exactly right! and the manual is very good, it explains to u how a few patches have been made, from that information, and general knowledge about subtractive synthesis u can create any sound anybody else ever made with the virus, by reverse engineering... |

jep that's true. i like to re-read because it gives ideas to subtle changes to parameters other than osc 1, osc 2 or the cutoff ;-) |

Howard Scarr has made great patches, which can be with little tweaks used for psy production. i believe he is influenced by some older psychedelic music )
analyze patches you have and then start gently with one init patch and start tweaking. it`s kinda ritual for me there are some commercial banks - vengeance or rob pappen, but this is trying to cover more trendy and mainstream dance club sounds. also if you didn`t, definitely try to read the Virus programming tutorial by Howard Scarr - very useful and nice reading
