hehe i was thinking the same thing when saw it, though ive never used a drum machine, this thing looks sooooo sweet, id love so much to through a big bongo/conga library on it and play like a cannibal in the forest

not really a drum machine or it use synthesis?look like a sampler with some pads ,a bit like a mpc , the akai controlleur + ableton 8 look like a better combo to me specialy for experimental music

I think this one looks great for live performance...but the 2 are actually for very different things. I'd much rather write drums on Machine than with the Akai controller. Though I'd much rather do a live set with the Akai controller as opposed to the NI Maschine.
