one other thing i had in mind the other day....

any chance the saftey against pitsburgh was a WWF style attempt for drama? would it have been called say with AZ up by two touchdowns? it just doesn't smell right to me, even if there was a holding, they would never call it with AZ ahead.

is it all about rating/entertainment or is it sports?

thoughts?

There was holding in that play, and it was a borderline call, but that's the game... sometimes you get away with playing dirty, sometimes not. I think there were more than enough times when the benefit of the doubt went to the Steelers in that game as well.

I think that the Steelers were punished because they know how to play on just the right side of the line between dirty and illegal, and did it an agonizing many times in that game (as they always do, that's Steelers football). In the wider perspective of the game, that call was more the refs making sure that no one would blame them for favoring Pittsburgh. If you look at the numbers - AZ had more yards, but penalties lost them the game. Because they don't know how to bend the rulebook nearly as well.

And as an added note: I don't think there's one QB this draft that is top 10 pick material. At that level the player should not only stand up as extraordinary talent - they should be ready to shine on the biggest stages, and simply put, not this year.          http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

@faxi, Boldin and Plaxiglass are most likely leaving their teams, would you want either of them repping the bay?

I haven't heard a lot about it. He says he wants to play in 3-4 and he would fit in perfectly, but given the limited cap space due to the cassel situation it might be difficult to sign him.

Everything seems to indicate that, yes. Brady is already at the point wherre he's droping back and taking snaps, and he said that he expects to be ready as soon as the season opener. I like Cassel and would like him as an insurance policy (he even said he wouldn't mind being a backup) but several key defensive players are up on their contracts by 2010, and if we need to trade Cassel to free up cap space then so be it.

peppers said he wants to play for the cowboys or 3 other teams, one of them in the AFC. aside from wanting to play for a winning organization he said he wants to be in a warm environment, so there goes NE. Only AFC team I can think of are the Dolphins.

I actually haven't gotten a chance to watch much of it. Raji and Curry are beasts though from what I've heard.

for the vikings...

assuming they pick up TJ Houshmandzadah in free agency,
I'd like to see them take Alex Mack, center from Cal.
if not, Percy Harvin, WR from Florida might be my choice.
