Hi folks
News on Virtual and Ishq for 2008
Colourform - Visions of Surya
Visions of Surya is the third release on Virtual and a collaborative work between Matt Hillier from Ishq and Jake Stephenson from Optic Eye.
The album was written as an imaginary series of pipe dreams experienced by a traveller in a strange far away land in a smoking house dreaming the day away and drifting between this world and the invisible worlds of the imagination .Its sound is at times eastern and exotic and evokes images of ancient temples , enchanted landscapes and the far east .Magic carpet music is one description we would use.
The album is dedicated to Jake who co-wrote much of the music and who moved into the invisible world himself some time ago .Jake was instrumental in encouraging us to make music and he got us our first label deal and really was the third member of Ishq in some respects and so this ones for him.

We've updated the Ishq and Virtual websites and added a joint Blog style News page here

We've made some changes to Virtual. Aswell as the Virtualworld series ( Visions of Surya being the 3rd album )
we are also just about to release a couple of other albums on 2 new seperate series. One will be "Timelapse in Mercury"
the first release on a second series called
' Virtual space '
which will release deeper and more 'cosmos' inspired works which are less detailed and more morphic and otherworldly.
The other new series is called
' Virtual form '
and will be a vehicle for releasing the ' Harmonising electrified forms and Organic forms ' of Ishq ( minimal contemporary sound sculpture and installation music and more abstract electronica ).
The blog will be updated monthly with news of these future releases and the other Virtual albums in the pipeline aswell as Ishq related news .
Virtual free stuff

Proper Ishq album ?
We've had many emails over the years since "Orchid" came out asking us if we will ever do another Ishq album like Orchid ?. To be honest its always been planned and we have worked for the last 6 years on Ishq material for another album , and here and there a few Ishq tracks have been released on compilations but work outside music making and Virtual and time and space kind of meant we drifted a bit on a follow up but one is well and truely underway. It wouldn't be sensible to say much more but the future will see an album which continues the story and sound of Orchid and more more ' Ishq ' style music.

Are there any plans for a re-release of the 2-disc version of Orchid ?

Ishq is the shitznat fer real...also look for a new open system track and some ishq remixes on the upcoming Celestial Dragon comp. Vampire Sunrise. Matt's new stuff is so deep and spacey that it makes me wonder if he is made of particles from planet Namek

got mine in a flash...and saving for a special occasion as usual. 
the upcoming 'special occasion' will include this one, distant system, ott's latest, don peyote's new one, and orchid star among other stuff, etc... lot's of good virgin ears on this journey (giddy with excitement..)
and that was some extremely fast shipping on this cd btw, infinite thanks to all at virtual.
