The new compilation from afrogalactic rec based in south africa is a dubby/downbeat trip to the paradise !!Big respect ...
-1-Binary Dredd "More or Less"
-2-Lightyear "Smokin' "
-3-Joshu "Distances"
-4-Mr Mo "Rock it all Night"
-5-Leon Berrange "Where is my Waldorf"
-6-The Sticky "first Seven"
-7-Black Lab "Temple"
-8-Sgubu "Me"
-9-Cyber 7 "Dis al Dub"
-10-The Cusp "Moine Flip"
-11-Beat Pharmacy "Numb"
-12-Binary Dredd "Hoboken"
-13-General Dealer "Soma 5"frownpants mix
-14-Kalahari Surfers "Herdsman"

I can't explain better as they made:

"When AfroGalactic Records started working on this compilation we could not believe the depth of talent around.
'Area 69' is a laid back deep dubby bubbly underwater gliding groove. Not for sleeping though. It gets your ass movin' and tickles your toes.
There are several well established artists on this cd, like The Sticky (Felix Laband&Adam Lieber), the Kalahari Surfers and Mr.Mo….. but the rest should have been noticed by now.
Lets loose the stigma of "Local is Lekker" and listen to our homegrown sounds with an open mind.
This is a compilation of local music you can support because it is first-rate and not because you are being patriotic.

It's right up there.

Some would call this compilation hard ambient, some would say it's funky dope beats, you decide. It's out there now.

And there is more to come.

Enjoy"

For me this is one of the most innovative and experimental compilation i know and all tracks are greats !!Big Bass and a wonderfull cover !!
You can hear sample of the tracks on the coming soon section of:

Thanx for the info, Panoramix cause I didn't know that such a label planned to release downTempo stuff..

.. But what a nice idea they had there and the hearing of the samples has been a good surprise, some tracks seem to be indeed very cool.

Mr. Mo, General Dealer, Kalahari surfers & all the AfroG Crew : good Luck !!           .

I see Kalahari Surfer (aka Warrick Sony) on this comp...he released an album last year called Akasic Rekord which seems to have fallen through the cracks...this CD featured samples from Kalahari Bushmen, Rappers etc, blended in with shifting slow dub rythms, sitars and electronic intruments...and it stands out as a classic life work from this artist...more info can be found at
