Hello, I have recently become interested in synthesizing trance music on my computer. My influence is gennerally psy and goa genres. I have looked into programs such as FL, Appleton and have been succsesful in making a few arpegiatos style songs with the sounds provided. I have become stuck with my limitation to the sounds FL has to offer. If anyone can recomend a program good for synthesising new sounds that is user freindly for beginners. This would be very helpful.

Thanks
Mike

(BTW does anyone know if the name Dj Wave is taken I would like to adopt this psuedonym.)           A gramme is better then a damn.

I haven't heard of a DJ Wave, but to my mind, a Dj generally plays records rather than produces, I'd go with something cool without the 'Dj' part.

Synthsising sounds is a whole science, and I'm no expert! What I can tell you is that it is done with the use of additional plugins for your host sequencer called VSTi's (Virtual Studio Technology Instruments) and these can be purchased or downloaded for free sometimes by generous folk who make them in their spare time. When installed (like any regular program) they can be accessed from within Fruity or Cubase, or whatever you are using that supports VSTs and controlled to produce new sounds.

fl is a very basic and user friendly sequencer...sumthing that can get u well accustomed with beat arrangement...use cubase if u seriously wanna learn production. its much more that just arranging white boxes ...i would recommend fl for starters any day..

LOL, just not true, sorry.

Fruity is user friendly, yes. But what do u mean with basic?

My tracks are all done in fruity, like a lot of other artist use it for their tracks.

Anyway i don't want to go into this again,            Signature

FL is like beer.
Cubase and Logic are like champagne.
Pro Tools is like vodka.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
