Last Last minute announcement. This is going to be the last one for the night.

Atomic Pulse did not make it to the US. We don't know the reason why or how. As a replacement we are bringing to you Suria from Portugal. He is currently on his way to the location and will play in Atomic Pulse's spot.

Sorry for the mixup and i hope to see you all at the party. Peace.

Suria is already here and he will rock the place in the morning! Get ready for his stormy set!           I don't know, but I've been told, if you keep on dancing you won't grow old.

it's 10 am, so this is very "fresh from the party," and should be taken as such. that said, here's a brief review. ..

arrived at 2 or thereabouts to hear the end of what sounded an excellently tweaked set by a resident dj whose name i wish i knew. Vibra's set kicked off shortly thereafter, taking me on wild ride bridging various psy subgenres. i thought the set flowed beautifully and displayed the artists' enormous range.

N3xu--or "nexus" as i'll lazily type it from here on--must have got on the decks around 4:40-5. That's of course a very rough estimate. Given my headspace, i did will to stumble upstairs to the very spacious chill space available to smokers and gropers and yogis and the lot. this was a very welcome second space and provided a chance to sit down, smoke in peace, and marvel at the FUCKING DECO!! sorry for the caps but it was that off-the-hook. Daya's work was out in its full glory with a stunning new addition that i'm sure will circulate in peoples party pics. Ribbit! The pom-pom ball LSD quilt is a gem! Who's responsible?!

oh yeah, lotsa lazers too and smoke boxes sufficient to have large quadrants of the dancefloor coughing in time. . .

back to the music: nexus was sick and wicked fucking music, to be sure, but given the absence of the announced MORNING act, I began to doubt my commitment to seeing some segue out of what was, by most standards, a pretty punishing (though righteously so) evening of psytrance. so, i bailed after nexus handed off the decks. to whom i don't even know. waiting to hear. . .

At this point, i've waited too long already without talking about the sound. I can't say how enormous the improvement was over what i heard at the penta party i checked out. Thank god for stereo. the straight two way system was a dream. plenty of sound for that space. . moments approaching saturation, but no Oli wisdomesque high frequency meltdowns, to be sure. more importantly, the boominess of the space was kept to a minimum thru what was obviously a much more professionally engineered "low end". Cheers for the system, guys. was worthy.

now to my gripes, before i leave this baby. beyond the lack of a morning act, i found myself upset by the 20 dollar wrist bands to drink unlimited at the bar---but not water. Water was 5/bottle, and no one could refer me to a tap where i could fill an empty. Remember the amazura, anyone? bad water politics? pls, charge us a little more at the beginning and cut thru the b.s. i didn't see the toilets tonight, but at penta it was a nightmare. i heard bad rumours about terrible lines last night. all i can say is that there's no reasonable way to access tap water other than thru the already overburdened toilets.

ok, enuf potty talk. next to that 100 dollar house of trance new years 99 (was it?) in a sweaty little furniture warehouse in sunset park, this was a total killah. i feel like i paid for my experience, but the production values at this one made it worth it. biggest ups and bom bolenats to all involved with the deco and the sound engineering.

My final 2 cents: I'm like a cup of free chai away from feeling really good about this one. oh, and i'm pretty sure some others will do the work of whinging about the atomic pulse no-show.

thanks for reading, and, uhm, happy new year!

Something has definitely changed. The energy at last night's party was exactly what I had hoped for. I had a really fabulous evening, good music, good decor, much improved sound system. So nice to experience a decent party at last from TDC. It was a pleasure to be there.

It was a great way to start the new year, and I hope that this continues. Congratulations, and a Happy New Year to you all. Thank you very much!

Oh, one minor complaint, please think about charging a more reasonable price for the water.

I had a really good time, the deco was amazing. So those were pompoms the LSD sign was made from? I kept looking at that wondering if it was really 3d or if was my eyes playing trix on me. The sound system was really intense and loud and clear and was very fun to listen to When I came out the warm weather and the sunny sky topped off a really nice new years.
I did have a lot of trouble finding out who was playing when which I like to know but on the other hand maybe there is something to be said for hearing music blind to the identity of the person playing it.
I dont know that it was twice as good as a 30$ party, but what the heck its new years other years have ben like 100 or so, so thats an improvement i guess. All in all it was a fun party with a very postive energy, wonderful crowd, intense sonic and visual mindbending up to the end. Too bad more people didnt come if it had been less expensive maybe the same money could have been made. It would be nice if presale tickets were not through paypal only, I refuse to use paypal even if it would save money.
peace out all and a happy gregorian new year.

Whaaaaat a night. thanks everyone for contributing to what in my experience was the best energy creation in NYC club. and many many thanks to the crew who created the space for all of us:) it was truly magical, with all the fluoro deco thanks to Daya, DJ sets, especially Dimitry for providing a very deep end to finish trance experience and tons of nice people and smiles.

the sound system was very good one, with the crisp bass,           na kopcu Kosciuszki za sterami Komandor.OrZech..

and one more thing. i was pretty surprised at one point when i went to the bathroom and asked the line of people if i could fill my water bottle to hear a cold NO. i have to admit all other times i was always let in (once a very nice guy picked at least 7 bottles and filled them in for us - thank you:)) a quick note to those who didn't let me fill my bottle, remember there might be some kid on something that requires water to prevent overheating. i've seen too many clubs closed because of that.           na kopcu Kosciuszki za sterami Komandor.OrZech..

what an amazing and magical night that was. The deco was really amazing and beautiful, that combined with the music took me to breathtaking places far far away, some of which I havent visited in a while. Thank you for the awesome party TDC, you guys are the best.
Nexus played a mindblowing set(IMO the best of the night). I really love his music. Most of the other artists/dj's played great music as well, especially Dimitry, Brain Terrain Project, etc...
Sorry to hear about your problems with filling your water bottle, mietek, most of the people on line were likely waiting to do the same thing, and I can understand the irritation of standing on line for a while at any party. Hopefully next time people will be more understanding, water is really a necessity, and should always be free an easily/quickly obtainable. As someone already said, think about someone seriously overheating/dehydrated who could run into some trouble(and not just him) if he doesn't get his water quickly.
Peace, and a happy new year to all!          We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home.
