Hi there all im fairly new to this forum and this is the first track i've shared on it.

This is the first psytrance track i've got round to finishing (intensely short attention span) and im just looking for a little feedback. Theres still a couple of issues in the mix, and 1 or two parts sound a little dodgy but essentially it's all there. Just want to know if im on the right path really.

The link is http://files.filefront.com/Blueprintsmp3/;12983545;/fileinfo.html

All and any feedback well appreciated.

agreed on the voice sample it was a little loud in the mid range area. i like the effects and the mix and production but there's no composition in place. then when you finally decide to drop a melody a little after 2 minutes its out of key and doesn't have the qualities that a melody should have. it should hook the listener. it should be the part of the track that they remember. the only thing that really trademarks your song is the voice samples you used. that is the reason why i feel a lack of interest in modern psy and lean more towards downtempo. there's nothing unique that distinguishes it from other psy tracks.

the choirs that play a few chords are quite a nice touch. there's more room in this mix to add some melodic content and some chords.

that's my opinion. i am sure it is composed the way you wish it to be. it is quite a nice production in terms of technicality but i can't say much about arrangement, composition, and melodic content. Because there is not hardly any.

my songs are the opposite they always have plenty of melodic content but not enough of the technical work           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

cheers for the feedback dija, its nice to hear some good criticism. i try and steer away from having lots of melodies, for a couple of reasons , firstly because the few times ive tried to put some into my tracks theyve sounded pretty cheesy, and also the psy i listen to is usually the intensely psychedelic, which usually lacks melodies. however i do like melodies in other circumstances, they definitely arnt my strong point though, i might go back to it and add a couple of melodic sections.

ideally id like to find a nice middle point between psychedelic and melodic, probably around 60/40 favoring psychedelic, but i guess that will come with practice.

regards, ben

dija - staying in key isnt always that psychedelic that going out of key can become...

i really like the effect of things being out of key in the "right" key if you know what i mean...
