I'm very new to psychedelic trance. I've heard some and really like it. I'm interested in making some tracks and would like someone in San Francisco to create some with. I also could use advise on good software to create it on (I don't have any software for making music yet). I've never before made a track and need as much help as I can get. I'm open to advice from all trance artists.

This is a very general inquiry. The best thing to do is to begin by browsing this forum or another like it regularly. You need to become familiar with some terminology first.

If you are serious, there are some things you can do to get started right away. Make sure your computer is stable enough to handle DAW-type software and consider a good sound card. You can download freeware and demo software to start with until you are ready to make a decision on your sequencer. A word of caution - DON'T be seduced by all of the latest and sexiest software - less is more! You'll go broke trying to acquire what the pros use - it takes time and money.

I'd consider throwing your dollars at reason or ableton live to begin with because they are incredibly versatile programs with moderate learning curves (although i don't find reason to my liking for sequencing entire tracks).

good monitors or headhones are one of the first requirements as well. you will find lots of opinions on gear in this section. i also advise reading music production magazines such as sound on sound for more information

all that said, you can get in touch with me i'm in your area. i spend an abscene amount of time researching this subject as i'm sure most everyone here does as well.

It sounds like you're looking for someone to do it for you. You don't have software or equipment, you don't have experience, you don't have deep knowledge of the genre.

What are you offering to this would-be partnership?

I don't mean to come off rude. If you're looking for someone to teach you, it's a very different thing than looking for a partner.

I am looking for someone who can teach me a bit on music software if possible and to work with to create tracks.

Psy Forest - to collaborate with someone if you dont have much knowledge is not so rewarding as if you would have more knowledge..

all i can say is get your hands on some software and start experimenting...

but of course its not bad to have somebody to teach you, but i thik its easy to get chought in a formula if you get too much of the knowledge served..

when i teach someone i try to not involve my personal thinking, i try to get the one i teach to try and experiment by him self.. trying to serve different techniques on the same issue, you can do like this and you can do like that... and so on

good luck to you and have a interesting quest

we better look out for SF, i know there are lots of talents over there..

in my opinion for you Psy Forest to get some knowledge, just start of listening more deeply into psy, look at track structure, try to understand wat ever is happening in the track, and once you are on it, try producing

Good luck, sincerely TSAB
